Not the only ones. Half of Kara was relieved. Neither she, nor Lily, had fallen to this illness alone. That meant that doctors would be working at full power to try and fix it. Still, such news came with a heavy weight on her heart, and it saddened the brunette to know that if things went wrong---to the point of death---her life would not be the only one spent.
"None of them look very good. The doctors wont say anything though."
Kara's lips set in a grim line, and the young woman flicked her eyes out the plexiglass window as movement caught her eye. Doctors were rushing past, and down the hall; a flurry of white coats and protective gear. Clearly, someone was crashing. "Yeah. I wouldn't think they would." Kara finally managed to reply. It was low, though a bit distressed in it's depths. Her heart was hammering. There was nothing about this situation that could possibly calm her. How many people were in the other rooms suffering?
She didn't want to say it aloud. Heavens knew she couldn't bring any further worry to the mother. Saying that they weren't talking because it was so horrible didn't seem like it was appropriate, though, she certainly felt it in her own core. Claire probably knew, too. Though, out of respect of Kara's sickly condition wasn't going to say anything. Kara was aware that she was in bad shape. It wouldn't take long before she was just as bad as the rest of the damn hospital patients. Someone would be working on this, right?
Kara fleetingly wished she was a certified agent with a badge. That, she assumed, could get her some answers. Or, at least in touch with people that could give her some. She pictured her phone, sitting in her purse at her parents' house. If she had that, and it was legal to use one in a hospital without fear of jamming a vital machine, she would be calling Quantico. Penelope Garcia wasn't a good friend of hers, but a useful one, and a woman with a heart as big as any. She would have been able to find out what was going on. But Kara wouldn't be able to reach her here. She needed a land line. Or something.
She coughed, burying her head into her elbow so as not to spread any germs. She didn't know how this thing was transmitted. She knew nothing. But, it seemed Claire was in fine health, and she didn't wish to jeopardize such things. If she was well, why was she risking herself like this? She let her eyes fall on Lily once more. That, she could almost understand. "Eventually, they will have to come in and talk to us," Kara offered. She wasn't entirely sure it was true, but it eased her own mind some.

When Kara told Lily nosebleeds happened all the time, Lily let go of a breath she wasn't aware of holding. Even though Lily herself had never had a nosebleed until now, kids at her school had had them, so she knew they very common. Though, deep down something told her that she wasn't bleeding for the same reason as her classmates, but Lily told that little voice to be quiet because another part of her wanted her to believe that she did since it made her feel better.
While Claire and Kara was talking to each other about how long they had been in there, Lily fought hard to remain awake. The lack of activity she preformed made her really bored and tired, but then again, she didn't have the strength to do anything. Fighting hard to remain awake, Lily felt a slight anxiety grow bigger in the pit of her stomach, as she saw how the doctors ran back and forth outside the plexi-glass window. This didn't bode well. She let out a slight whimper to express her anxiety but wasn't sure whether Kara or her mother heard her.
As Claire leaned in on Lily gave her the go ahead to get some rest, Lily nodded her head but wasn't sure she dared to close her eyes. "Promise you won't leave me here alone?" Lily asked, her voice low. She knew her mother would never do such a thing since she had said so herself a lot of times, but Lily wanted to hear her promise it again.
Her mother kissed her on the cheek like she always did when tucking Lily into bed at home. When Claire turned to Kara to have a more grown-up talk, Lily hesitaded before she closed her eyes and within ten seconds her mother and Kara's voices was only heard on a far away distance and the grip she had had while holding her mother's hand loosened. "I love you mommy." Lily whispered but this time it was obvious the others wouldn't hear her. It was more like an echo in Lily's head.
The voices only grew more and more distant than before and for a second Lily heard her heart monitor give away a shrill sound as it showed a flat line on it's screen. Strangely she didn't feel scared at all now. Nor did she feel weak. In fact, she felt nothing. She was surrounded by a bright white light and for a second she thought she saw Charlie, her father. "Daddy!" Lily called out. "Daddy, daddy, I'm over here" She repeated and started to jump up and down with excitement. She had missed him so much. In the next instant she was in his arms and he swirled around with her like they used to before he died. She was laughing and he was chuckling. When he put her down and crouched down to her eye level and took her small hands in his. Lily stared into his eyes with a mega watt smile and her won eyes sparkling. "Why did you leave mommy and me? Where is momma?" She asked looking around for Claire but she wasn't to be seen anywhere. " Mommy, Mommy! Daddy's here!" Lily shouted happily her british accent thick. "Honey. She can't hear you." Her father replied in a hushed tone. Lily looked at him questioning not really knowing what was going on. "Sweetheart, We don't have much time but I want you to know that I didn't want to leave you and mommy. It was just my time to go. Remember how you didn't want me to go to work and I rather wanted to spend the time with you and mommy, but I had to leave anyway because somethings you just have to do" Lily nodded her head and waited for her father to continue. " This was almost the same thing but I can't come back. Remember the fishy Felix we had before he died? He had to leave too, just like I did." Lily lowered her head, thinking he left becasue of her. The truth was that she had blamed herself for her father's disappearance ever since he left. She thought he left because of something she had done. " Hey there. it wasn't your fault baby. It could never be your or your mommy's fault. I loved you both very, very much" He told her as he pulled her into another hug. "As long as you remember me I will always be with you." He whispered to her ear still holding her in his arms. Lily rested her head on his rigth shoulder. "I am so sorry baby but your time is not yet. You have to go back to mommy and help her take care of your new baby sister. They need you. I will be waiting for all of you right here. I'm not going anywhere. I promise." Lily held onto her father tighter not wanting let him go.
The sound people and machines was heard even though they were on a far distance. She looked at her father with frightened eyes. "It's okay baby, I'm here." Her father said and she was pulled from the white light into a black one holding onto her father tight. " I love you Lily." The words sounded extracted.
The next thing she knew her father's voice was replaced with a darker and deeper voice, which she didn't recognise. "We have her back" said the voice. "Back from where? who's back?" Lily tried to ask still very frightened at the situation. Her father was gone and she could hear her mother's happy voice and Kara's but she couldn't see them. It was pitch black and Lily didn't like the dark. "MOMMY!" Lily tried to call tears pouring down her cheeks, but it didn't look like her mother could hear her. It didn't seem like anyone could hear her. Where was she? Were they still in the hospital or were they home? " I don't like the dark" Lily said inbetween hiccups. She couldn't stop the tears. Even though she felt there were other people in the room she felt so alone since no one could hear her calls.

Claire looked at her daughter, unable to smile this time. 'I promise, sweetie, I will never leave you alone." She said on Lily's biddings. That time the promise was sincere. Claire would never leave this room with out her daughter. If she started to get sick, then she would stay with her, hand in hand. There was no way that the doctors would force her out, none at all. In her baby girl was about to die then she was going to do it in her arms. After that she would be with her father. Claire believed that Charlie was waiting just beyond the life of the living waiting for his family to come join him, this thought made the worry of Lily dieing bearable, but not totally gone.
While talking to Kara she had no idea what was about to happen. Everything seemed fine, then, bam! The heart monitor dropped to a flat line just like that. Claire jumped from her set as fast as she could and looked down at Lily. Looking around she shouted, "DOCTOR! DOCTOR HURRY!" In only a few seconds a team of five in white suits ran into the small room, with a crash cart ready. "Ma'am, you have to move." One nurse said her voice soft and kind. Claire didn't move however, so with the help of another nurse they pulled the two's hands apart and pushed Claire back away from the bed. This landed her on the edge of Kara's bed, but she didn't even notice the other woman now.
"No no no no no." She muttered under her breath her Australia accent becoming very thick. "Please no. Not yet. Please. God... No." Her pleads only got louder as the team over and over again said, "Clear." Then shocked the little girl. "Come on Lily! Please Lily come back!" She called frantically moving as close to the small bed as she could get. "Please not yet. Not yet!" With out even realizing it tears had started to stream down Claire's face and her words were turning into sobs. Fear coursed through her every time she heard the paddles shock her daughter.
Then the heart monitor came back to life beeping steadily, but softly. "LILY!" Claire exclaimed and pushed passed the small group to get to her daughter. Tightly graping up her hand she said, "It's okay, sweetheart, I'm here, I never left." Yet nothing happened. She didn't move, didn't speak. Looking at the doctor, whose face was suddenly stern and puzzled she asked, "What's wrong?" When he didn't answer right away said shouted, "Doctor!" Looking as if from a daze he said, "She's fallen into a coma." The news hit Claire so hard that she didn't even have the strength to said What. Her world just froze. Looking down as Lily she watch her cold lifeless body. "Lily?" She called softly. "Lil? Can you hear me... oh please god!" More tears streamed down her face. This could not be happening to her. The doctor was talking about test they had to run and all this stuff that Claire didn't hear. They could do what ever they wanted as long as Lily came back to her.

When Lily heard her mother say she was okay, Lily thought her mother was somewhere in the dark and that she could hear her. "Mommy?" She said and tried to squint her eyes in the dark in effort to see her mother. The man with a deep voice said something about someone being in a coma. Who's in a coma? What is a coma? Lily thought. She had heard the word before but didn't quite know what it meant. "MOMMY!" Lily shouted once more. No answer. Instead came a 'can you hear me' reply. " Yes momma I can hear you, I can hear you!" Lily shouted. Again, no answer.
She was all alone in the dark. Lily understood that now. She had no idea where she was but she could hear her mother's sobs from the side of where she was lying. Why was her mother sad? She could feel her mother's hand in hers but Lily couldn't squeeze it back. In fact, she couldn't move at all. Why couldn't she move? Had someone tied her down? Maybe this was just all a bad dream and soon her mother would wake her up and she would wake up at home, in her own bed. Deep down Lily knew that wasn't going to happen. She had never been this frightened in her whole life. Which four year old wouldn't have been scared in this situation?
Lily heard the doctors talk about her discease and the word 'blood' came up a few times so did 'coma'. What did it mean?! Lily was getting a little frustraded now, which she always got when she didn't understand a word and no one explained it to her. She loved to learn new words. Lily pictured the doctor that was talking to her mother as tall, with brown hair that was hidden under that funny suit the doctors wore when they passed the plexi-glass window outisde their room. She also pictured him with brown eyes and his hands big as a bearpaws. Now, this was just a wild guess. She had absolutely no clue whatsoever of how he looked. This guessing game eased her fear a little but certainly not completely. She wished her mother could tell her a story but she knew it was no use to even try and ask. Her voice wouldn't be heard. Was their roommate Kara still in the room? She didn't hear her voice. Maybe Lily wasn't listening. Lily prayed she would still be in the room and keep to her promise about the cake they would get once they were all better and out of there.

Things had been fine; well, as fine as they could be when you were infected with something that was slowly killing you. But nothing, nothing could have prepared her for the flat-line. It was the most dreadful sound that the brunette had ever heard. It was loud, obnoxious and unwanted. A sign that someone was in very dire trouble. She hadn't even realized that she had been screaming for the doctor, too. Though, Claire's cries far outdid her own. As staff rushed in in their full-body contamination suits, Kara erupted into a fit of coughs.
Her mind, though, was not on that. It was on the lovely little girl that was lying in the bed. The one who wanted a piece of cake when this entire ordeal was all said and done. Claire had, somehow, ended up on the bed with her. Kara had seen her reluctance to leave her baby girl, but missed the rest. Still, she did nothing more than place a hand on her shoulder in a somewhat comforting manner and try to quell her heart in prayer.
Was it really that fast, that easy to die? She had known of such things when working on the field, their criminology class had done plenty of research. But death by disease? Simply because she was tired, that little angel of a girl had been thrust into the hands of angels. But nobody was ready to let her go yet. Claire's cries grew more frantic, and Kara still remained silent. It was all she could do; she felt sick to her stomach, though it was probably not from the disease as much as it was from her nerves and fear.
But then, the most glorious sound on earth. The line began to rise and fall! Such a thing should only have been followed by a sweeter sound--that of Lily's voice. But despite all of Claire's prodding, nothing was uttered in response. Kara's eyes saddened. Coma? Her mind was muddled a bit, from the antics that just happened, and also from an ailing body. Still, the gentle woman brought herself to speak out once more in a soft way, meant to be comfortable.
"Maybe it's better this way; she won't feel the rest of it. And she can pull out when this is all cleared up." Her lips were a bit dry, so some of the sounds had mulled together. Not to mention Kara wasn't sure she believed them herself. Certainly it would not have been comforting if a daughter of her own had been in the same position as Lily.
If she ever got to have that daughter.
She wanted to help Claire, truly. It was just a lack of knowing the right words. Or indeed if Claire wanted to hear them at all. "She will be alright." She added even softer, her eyes beginning to burn with tears that she tried to keep unshed. This was just too much. "She has to be. I owe her some cake," and Kara never fell back on a promise.

Claire watched the lifeless little girl. If it wasn't for the slow beeping she would have looked dead. Claire wished so much for Lily to open her eyes and tell her mommy that she loved her. In a whisper, barely hear able she mutter, "I love you Lily." Realizing that she hadn't said the words in the longest time, not for a few minutes at least and in this place where Lily could die at any second it was the most important thing. Claire had been to worried about promising that she would be okay that she had forgotten that it might not be okay. She wished that her little hand would squeeze back.
Kara's words broke Claire's thoughts, her pleads. Though they were meant to make her feel better they didn't. It sounded like Kara was saying that she was going to die, something Claire didn't want to hear. Claire wanted to say something, but she knew that they had not meant to hurt the way that they had, she was only trying to say that Lily wasn't in pain any more. 'How do we know that?' Claire thought coldly. It wasn't until Kara's next words that Claire realized how harsh she was being, then again she was allowed to be right now. Trying to control her sobs because she knew that Lily could hear her, at least that's what the doctor had said, she replied, "She'll make it out of this, she is such a strong little girl." She looked at Kara not sure if her words were meant for herself or not.
Looking back at Lily she knew that she had to be scared. She didn't know what was going on, that was for sure. "Hey Lils, its okay, everything okay, sweetie." She said finding it hard to talk. "This is nothing more than... than a dream okay?" She knew it was not only way to make it not as scary as it was. "A Coma, is just a kind of sleep. When you want to wake up you will, and everything will be okay, okay? Nothing to worry about, I'll always be here to help you okay?" She rubbed her thumb over the little hand softly, hoping that what she had said was true, that she could wake up when she wanted to.

OOC: I made a little time skip, to when Lily's starting to wake up from the Coma. I hope it's okay. I thought I would be able to have her in a coma but I find it quite hard to come up with something to write. hehe I am so, so, very sorry if I cause any trouble. ______________________ "A dream? I'm sleeping? Mommy, I don't want to sleep anymore." Lily said out into the empty, dark space. If it was a sleep how came she couldn't wake up? If it wasn't for her mother, Lily would have panicked. She knew her mother was there, keeping her safe. And according to her father's words, he would be with her as long as she remembered him, which she of course did and would always do. Lily could hear Kara's voice which made her smile a little. (Probably not on the outside but in her mind.) Their roommate and new friend was still there! The doctors on the other hand had left which Lily was relieved over. She had never been a big fan of doctors. They kind of creeped her out a little. Dentists too. --Time skip-- Lily flickered her eyes half open. The light in the room was so bright compared to the dark behind her eyelids, but she wasn't going to close her eyes again. What if she fell back into that thing called 'coma'? She had no idea for long she had been in a coma. Neither did she know what day or time it was. She had fallen asleep while in a coma and woken up just now. At first she wasn't sure she had opened her eyes for real or just imagined it. Her mother was still by her side and holding her hand......Holding her hand?! Lily could feel her hand in her mother's. This was more than she could feel the last time. At this point Lily's heartbeat started to race because of the exitement she felt. She could even smell! It smelled medicines and sick people. Not that she had ever liked the hospital smell, but now she was thrilled she could smell it. "Mo-Momma can you hear me?" Lily whispered with a hoarse voice. If she had been fully awake and on her feet, she would probably have been jumping up and down. Lily tried to squeeze her mother's hand back but without any luck. "Mommy?..... Kara?" Lily said one more time, and tried to swallow but her mouth was too dry. She didn't need the heart monitor to hear her own heartbeat racing with excitement. It was pounding like someone was playing racquetball in her chest. Focusing on her fingers, Lily tried squeezing her mother's hand again. This time she wasn't sure wether her mother had felt her fingers move or not, but she thought they were moving. Lily tried to wiggle her toes under the sheets. Were they moving? Did anyone see her? Since Clarie had said Lily was a strong girl, Lily had fought harder to come back to her mother and her new unborn little sister. Lily's father had told Lily that they both needed her and she was old enough to know that if she gave up on something she wouldn't achieve her goals.

Claire was so tired and drained. Still holding Lily's hand she put her other elbow on the bed and placed her head in it. She wasn't asleep, though she wished she was. It had been a long night with none, and it would get even longer as the day went on. But her mind couldn't rest. What if something happened to her daughter when she was asleep? What if she died, or what if she woke up. What if she was still scared and needed her to talk to her. Yet Claire couldn't get him mouth to work. The doctors came in and out and did a few tests. In about thirty minutes, minutes which Claire never said a word, yet listened to everything that was said, the had come to some sort of conclusion. "Lily's coma was caused by lack of blood flow to her brain when she was in respiratory arrest. The chances that this cased any long term brain damage is never little." There was a pause before he continued. "Coma is believed to be a bodily function used when the body is trying to protect itself from physical or psychological pain. We have reason to believe that they can no feel pain when in a coma. When Lily thinks that it is safe, she should be able to wake up." He said. But Claire knew that other side of the story. The part were coma was the body shutting down after sustain to much damage. Where the patient either dies in it or never wakes up. In truth Lily's symptoms pointed more to the first, but Claire couldn't expect that.
So with that she begun to talk to her daughter, about nothing in particular, she just talked. About Charlie, about her job. About the weather, even at one point she talked about politics. The whole time Kara was there, trying to help. Yet Claire barely knew she was around. There was nothing in her world but her and Lily. It had been thirty more minutes when her eyes opened, but because Claire had shut her eyes, unable to look into the dead looking face any more, instead she was visualizing Lily in the prime of her short life, talking back to her. Cause Claire to say things like, "So what do you think of the weather?.... I agree... Oh yeah, but the thing is..." And so on like the young girl was answering. She knew she sounded crazy but she didn't care.
It wasn't until her littler voice erupted into the room. Claire jumped a foot in the air and opened her eyes to see Lily's eyes opened as well. "yes, dear, yes I can hear you." She answered weakly. Still stunned by the sudden improvement to her daughter's condition. It wasn't until her little hand squeezed Claire's that it really sunk in that Lily was out of her coma. "Lily..." Her voice was suddenly weak and she could feel tears running down her face. "It's okay Lily, I'm here..." What she really was thinking was, 'It's okay Claire, Lily'd here.' A smile on her face she looked at her daughter as she tired to move her toes. "It's okay, sweetie, do strain yourself. it'll come when it comes." She said, knowing that after being in a coma for even an hour your muscles didn't want to work. They would once the brain really started up though.

OOC: Here comes the riff raff.))
Each team pulled up to the hospital in their various SUVs. Matt and Kate both had driven in the same vehicle and beyond that Matthew had no idea of the seating order when it came to the BAU. And quite honestly, he didn't give a damn. It wasn't his team so he pretended not to take any note or ounce of care about them, though of course if any of them got in a pickle Matthew Grimaldi would be the first in line to help. Some days he just had to be intentionally difficult, but it was always out of care for his own team.
Climbing out of the car he felt quite silly in the contamination suit he was wearing. Like some sort of messed up spaceman who got rejected from a mission. Kate probably felt the same way but of course Matt thought she looked just fine (but that was a thought he would never speak aloud). Shaking his head in disdain about the outfit he made his way into the hospital, expecting Kate to be in tow.
A doctor immediately greeted them, in a suit of her own, and immediately began to rattle off what had happened. Moans and cries filled the hospital which had been quarantined and set aside just for those infected with the virus because they didn't want anyone else to get sick. Occasionally Matt gave a nod or a simple grunt of acknowledgment but he was far too busy taking in the horror of the situation. Sick people behind plates of glass, some asleep, others pale and dying. Some coughing and writhing in pain as they bled out of their open orphaces and some children.. That's when he saw a particular three individuals behind glass and instantly froze, falling behind the doctor who was now talking to Hotch.
Familiar faces all three of them. Lily and Claire. He knew Claire's husband Charlie (as did Krys) and the two had been friends. Why hadn't she called? She always knew that she could call whenever she needed anything! Had she not taken him seriously?! And there in the bed was Lily, little darling Lily. Matt felt his heart sink (he always had a soft spot for children) and he actually felt sick. It wasn't until his eyes saw the young woman in the other bed that he gave into whatever emotion he had been holding.
There was Kara the young woman he had spent time with several times before. By then the instinct to vomit was far too great and Matt turned away hurrying toward a distant corner gagging, surely it was something that could be heard. Cringing in pain he tried to gather his thoughts all the while trying not to take off his helmet to keep himself from becoming infected.

Kate hated the funny white suit she had to wear, well that everyone had to wear. She hated that when ever they went outside they had to wear one. It made doing their job very hard. But then the FBI and police had learned their lesson. They couldn't risk their agents getting sick. Kate decided that right when she could she would take the suit off. There was the slightly worry that if she did she would get sick though. She wasn't worried about her, but about all the people that might die if she was unable to do her job. She had to live through this long enough to stop it from happening.
As she walked into the hospital a few feet behind Matt she felt sick. She didn't want to see all those sick people. This was not what she was good at. Place her undercover with the bad guy and she would have him dead in a matter of hours, a day at the most, along with all his crew if he had any. The only problem with that was that they didn't know who did this. It could have been anyone. Once they did, she was going to ask if she could go under, though she knew the answer would be no. There was no reason, Matt would say. But in her mind there was a reason. I make sure that they were dead, and not sitting in jail where they could just get out and make something else.
When they walked with Matt she say Kara, and until Matt she did not get sick, though her heart was heavy. Kate was mean to Kara a lot, but she did like the girl. It was a shame that she had to be sick. She watched as Matt ran off. Kate looked at the other persons in the room, a little girl no more than five years old. That hurt just as much. Then she looked at Matt again. Taking a big breath she moved over to him. This was something you rarely saw her do, but Kate could be a compassionate person. "Hey, Matt, it's okay, we'll find a cure and save them." She said softly. Bitting her lip she softly tapped him on the shoulder, which was better because all the protective gear.

"Mommy?..... Kara?"
"Right here, sweetie." Kara chimed, though instantly began to cough once more. It had been agony for the past half hour. The coughing didn't seem to want to stop, and the woman was getting a horrible feeling in her stomach that it was part of the disease. In which case, she should only expect it to get worse.
It was important for Claire to be with Lily at that moment, not necessarily for her to be right there, too. Lily didn't need to see Kara in that state she was in. Indeed, she could not get herself to stop coughing this time. She stood and moved away from the other two, so as to try and not disturb their talking, or worry the little angel of a child.
After a minute, she had managed to stop. But before she had returned to her bed, Kara let her fingers brush her lips. Her brown eyes widened slightly, and her heart rate immediately increased as she pulled them away and dropped her eyes. On her pale skin was a startling red. Blood. Before anyone had a chance to inquire whether she was okay or not, she hurriedly wiped the remaining blood off of her lips and hurried back over to her bed, where she decided that laying down was not a half bad idea.
She was feeling awfully tired and drained.
Outside there was an increase in suited workers. Kara shuddered at the sight of the contamination suits. They were there for the protection of the wearer, though it was disheartening to the ones who were sick. Quickly she released the thought and she watched them. She actually gasped slightly upon seeing a few of their faces. Kate and Matt? Well, she should have knows that Counter Terror would be on this.
So their sickness was a devised plan. Well, in her heart Kara knew that it could not have been an accident. Though, she could not begin to understand why someone would want to do such a thing to anybody. This was miserable.

Bent over Matt continued to cough and dry gag. The last thing he had been expecting to see was three people he knew and cared an inkling for all suffering. It had been a shock to his system and he was doing his damndest to shake it off but his body didn't seem to want to agree. Hands clasped at his virus protection suit clad thighs, crinkling the material noisily. He could even see some of what he was coughing appear on the clear shield of his face. If he removed the helmet however he would have been a goner because he would have been exposed so the fight was now for him to control himself and keep it on no matter what.
He would hate himself for giving into personal emotions like he was currently doing, but right now his thoughts couldn't exactly process. All that he could think about was his own worry for the three ladies beyond the plated glass, the sickly looks on their faces, and the risk of death that was so inevitable. His own gagging was now hurting his throat and he felt his hands strain with the urge and desire to remove his helmet, but still he managed to squeeze his legs harder and keep them from doing so.
"Lily and Claire..." He managed to get out in a hoarse voice, rushed with breath. "Kara..." He couldn't even get his own words out before he immediately yanked himself away from Kate and moved to the far corner of the outside room. He nearly bumped into the wall but instead leaned against it, just needing his space for the time being, to calm himself and recollect any coherent thoughts.

Lily was a little disappointed that she couldn't move her toes under the blanket. She feard that she would never be able to walk, run or dance again. Having seen people in wheelchairs many times, Lily had felt sorry for them just because they couldn't do all the that she loved. Such as climbing trees, ballet, playing soccer. Now she knew how they felt.
Her bottom lip started to tremble as she fought back the tears that was starting to burn behind her eyes. "Mommy, I'll be able to walk again, right?" Lily asked trying to wiggle her toes once again. This time she actually moved them. Not that it was a big movement, but it was still something, which was good enough.
Lily would have noticed all the poeple standing outside the glass window if Kara wouldn't have coughed as much as she did. Lily's attention was now at her. She had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. That coughing was not a good sign. Lily herself hadn't had any bad coughings....yet. Only a very high fever and a bad headache which probably caused her nosebleed. If they can cause that. Lily had a big heart and therefore cared a lot about Kara even though they had recently met. "Is she going to die?" She whispered to claire. Her voice was still pretty hoarse and weak. "I don't want her to die, mommy. I don't." The tears were too hard to keep from welling up in her eyes. If she would keep up this crying she would probably lose too much body fluids, but this was something Lily couldn't controle. Which four year old could?

Post by Aaron Hotchner on Aug 16, 2009 21:12:59 GMT -5
This situation was unlike any that Aaron Hotchner had ever been in. He'd seen part of a movie like this once, with a mysterious disease that had run rampant through the country, but he dealt with death enough on the job and found there was little reason to bring it home with him. It's not that the fictional disease in the movie had worried him; it was just a movie, and some days it seemed he had seen worse. But Haley had wanted him to turn it off, and after a half an hour of watching people sicken and die, he could find no reason to disagree. But the movie itself didn't hold a candle to the real thing. This time, there was something to worry about. This time, he couldn't just hit a button and make it all go away. In fact, he was bringing one of his agents right into the middle of things. And if things went bad...
But Aaron Hotchner wasn't one to dwell on what ifs and worst case scenarios. He needed a clear head if he was going to be of any use, and dwelling on wishes wouldn't help anyone catch the people responsible for this.
During the ride over, Hotch had been discussing with Morgan the possibilities behind the attack. There were many, and with what little they had to work with so far, they had found it hard to rule out any of them at all. Which left them with one option: to get more information. That was exactly what they'd come to the hospital in the first place for. They needed to know more. More about the current victims, about where they'd been before they'd become sick, and more about this sickness, if they hoped to find out what it could do, and if they was a way to cure it. As of yet, what they did know of the disease uneasily reminded the unit chief of the BAU of that movie, with the fever and vomiting and bleeding sores. But the profiler then tuned out parallels. He couldn't afford to liken this attack to something out of a film. Thinking like that got people killed.
He, like the others in his group, was decked out in full bio hazard contamination gear. No one was taking any unnecessary risks. The last thing any of them needed was to have an agent get infected by this strange virus. The thought held a lot of weight for Hotch, and not for the first time made him sure he had made the right call leaving Reid and JJ behind to work on the geographical profile. The last time they had been facing an UnSub and a deadly virus, Reid had been infected and almost killed. The thought of losing one of his own turned Aaron's stomach and he shook of the memories as he entered the hospital. He noted the CT agents, Matthew Grimaldi and Kate Saunders, had arrived just as they did and met up with them at the reception area.
Once inside, Hotchner waved down the first unoccupied doctor he could find. Which was a miracle in itself, really, as all around them the room was a flurry of activity: doctors, most in the same contamination suits as he was now, scrambling to and fro, calling old orders and running gurneys to various rooms with all haste. Hotchner was loathe to take away one of their hands, as it seemed the hospital needed all the help they could get at the moment, but they needed answers.
"Special Agent Aaron Hotchner," he said without preamble, voice somewhat distorted by the mask covering his head. "with the BAU. This is Special Agent Derek Morgan." Matthew had made his own introductions concerning his team. "What can you tell us so far?" he asked, mind gearing itself to analyze this on-coming information. He listened as the doctor explained what they had already known. "I'm afraid we don't know much more than that, but the number of patients keeps rising each hour. We're running out of room to put them..." Hotch had figured it was bad, but he didn't think the hospitals would fill up so quickly. "Have you had any deaths?" The doctor nodded grimly, "Just two. One was a two year old, the other seventy three." Hotchner nodded, not missing the fact that these two deaths had been extremes one way or another: either extremely young or extremely old. He didn't ask if they suffered. Everything about this viral cocktail seemed geared towards suffering.
"When was the first patient admitted here with these symptoms?" he asked. "Around ten o' clock this morning," the doctor replied "There were two. One of them a child." he lowered his eyes sadly. "She went into a coma shortly after arriving, but woke up a few minutes ago." Hotchner closed his eyes momentarily, this disease was bad enough, but for child? His heart twisted. "And are they...?" "They are still alive, yes. Would you like to see them?" The profiler was about to answer when he heard the CT leader stop short behind him, gagging. Alarmed, he turned around to check on the man, wary of the disease. But Matt had retreated from their group and leaned heavily against the wall, hands on his knees. He took a step in the others direction, but noticed Kate there beside him and let them be. He nodded to Morgan before turning to their guide and giving him the same affirmation.
"Lead the way."

And I need you now tonight, and I need you more than ever
And if you only hold me tight, we‘ll be holding on forever ----------------- Jack wasn’t supposed to be at work, he was supposed to be taking the kids to Central park for the day. That had still been the plan, until he received a phone call at god knows what time in the morning saying that he was needed as there was an incident at the hospital. He glanced at the clock; four in the morning. The babysitter/nanny wouldn’t arrive for another three hours and he couldn’t take the children into work with him. Especially considering the fact that he was told to go to the hospital. Jack muttered something down the phone and said his team would be able to manage several hours without him. He put his children first and he wouldn’t leave them alone, or put them in danger. He put the phone down and - like he usually would - fell asleep until his alarm began to go off a mere two hours later.
Jack had a routine in the morning. Routines kept him organised. They kept him calm and they helped him think. He stretched feebly and trudged to the bathroom, turning the light and then the shower on. He climbed in and began to stare at the wall, letting the water slowly wake him. Once he was awake and cleaned, he got out and got dressed; wearing his usual work clothes. The only time he ever looked decent. He jogged downstairs and made himself some coffee, making himself some toast. Once he’d buttered it, he sat down at the table and began to read yesterdays paper. He never had time to read that days paper; work always managed to get the best of him. He slowly ate his toast and shook his head at some of the ludicrous stories that they’d printed. He looked to his watch and saw it was six thirty. “Time to get the kids up,” he muttered to himself.
Jack’s routine ended like normal. The kids were moaning that they weren’t going to the park, but Jack promised to take them soon. He always kept the promises he made to his children, even if they weren’t the easiest to fulfil. The babysitter arrived ten minutes early and he kissed his children goodbye, before leaving the house. Jack always took his SUV home, even if the FBI weren’t all too happy with it. He sang - badly - along with the songs on the radio, tapping on his steering wheel too as he made his way to the hospital. By the time he got there, he saw his teams SUV’s. He climbed out of his SVU and was heading to the hospital when he was stopped and had a quarantine suit shoved into his hands. He gave a sarcastic thanks before half pulling it on. He held it around his waist as he trudged inside, clearly not in the best of moods. He noticed a man in a suit speaking to one of the doctors; he recognised him but only vaguely, unable to place a name to his face. Jack would be introduced to him later but his first concern was finding out why they’d been called in and where his team were. He made his way down the corridor, pulling his suit on as he did so. He noticed Kate standing in a corner with Matt who seemed to be doubled over in pain. He frowned and jogged over. “What’s happening?” Jack questioned, looking into the quarantine quarters before looking back to Matt. He then turned to a nearby nurse. “This is a hospital right? He’s having a panic attack!” Jack knew the symptoms; he’d had them the day he found out his wife had been killed. Thinking about that, he began to twist the ring he kept on his finger. ----------------- KICKING IT WITH !? A lot of people!
