((ooc: So sorry Kara, I know neither of us have been accepted, but I'm Reid and we're tired of waiting so we're going to start a thread here and if it's not okay we can discard it. *Whispers* it was Krys' idea! Anyway sorry this is kind of bad but I hate starting threads. ))
Claire didn't go out to eat much. Almost always her and her daughter, Lily, ate at home. They didn't have the money to go out all the time. Then there was the simple fact that taking four year olds out to eat wasn't always the best thing to do. But then Lily wasn't most four year olds. She was more mature, and Claire could count on her to be good. She still had her moments like anyone. But Claire thought it was time to do something different. The two of them hadn't gone to a restaurant in over five months, not since she got raped. She just didn't feel safe out in public any more. However she wanted to make life for her daughter as normal as she could. Thus she decided that after work she was going to go eat.
The restaurant Claire chose wasn't fancy or run down. It was fairly cheap, and had good food. That was all that matter. The two of them were sitting in a table near the back. It was 5:30 in the afternoon so it wasn't terrible packed but there were quite a few others around. they had just gotten their drinks and were no waiting on their food.
Like most days Claire wasn't looking her best. Her hair was pulled up in a pony tail, with a few strands falling into her face. She was wearing a pink maternity shirt, one that Lily had picked out for her to wear that morning, and a pair of faded blue jeans. It wasn't that hot out side, being the middle of summer, but it did seem like rain was threatening to fall. Looking across the table Claire smiled at her daughter wanting this to be a special day for her. Maybe she would even let them get ice cream after dinner. She wasn't going to tell her that though, else the kid wouldn't eat her meal she would be to exited. "So how was your day?" She asked in her soft Australia accent. It wasn't as noticeable as say Steve Irwin's accent, but it wasn't American either. You could miss it if you weren't paying much attention, though. [/blockquote]

Lily could hardly remember the last time they had been out to a restaurant. To her it seemed ages ago they last went, but she was glad they could finally go out. She had picked out her hot pink dress with white polka dots all by herself this morning. Unlike her mother, Lily was dressed for a warmer weather but hadn't forgotten to take a white cardigan sweater with her, that would fit to her white shoes, just incase it would start to rain. Her long, blonde hair was neatly put up into two french braids, one at each side, which her mother had made.
Lily reached across the table to grab her glass of water, with both her hands. Sitting on her knees on the chair made it easier for her to reach the plate on table. Even at home Lily used to sit on her knees while sitting by the dinner table. Taking a long sip of her water, she could feel the cool liquid making it's way all the way to her upper stomach before putting the glass back down to answer her mothers question. "Good" Lily answered simply with a broad, warming smile on her face and sparkling eyes. "Mrs. Watson let me feed Jackson today and he didn't bite me. He's a really nice birdie"
Mrs. Watson was Lily's teacher in school and Jackson was the class pet. Actually he was a blue budgeringar with black and white feathers on his wings and on his head, and his cage used to stand in a corner of the classroom where he used to sit on his stick chirp. Lily loved the bird but was at the same time a little scared of him because his beak looked so sharp, and she was scared the bird would bite her.
Lily's eyes drifted to her mother's stomach where they rested for a few seconds before she looked back up at her mother's face with a wondering look. "How does the baby breathe in there?" Lily asked out of the blue with a slight frown on her face. She had picked up her father's accent when she was young, which meant that Lily had a British accent. It wasn't a thick British accent but it was noticeable. Some words, Lily pronounced with a slight Australian accent, which she had picked up from her mother.

Claire watched as Lily took a drink of water, still afraid that she was going to spill it all over herself. Then what was she going to do? Lily would get cold and wet and might start crying. Then she wouldn't like the back up cloths her mummy had brought with her, and in the end it would be a giant mess. That, of course, was the worst case scenario. Claire took a long drink of her own water, not really allowed to drink anything else. It made it easier to tell Lilly no soda when she didn't have any though. Claire never let her daughter drink soda on a normal day. Maybe on the week end she would let her had a sprite but that was it.
Smiling at Lily as she talked about her day. It was good that she had been able to pet the bird. Claire was thinking about letting Lily get her own pet, which might make it easier on her. Claire knew that the little girl still missed her dad, and Claire wasn't help at all with her depressed mood some times. If they had a pet then she would be able to have a friend around all the time. But then it was hard finding something a pregnant woman could clean up after, and that was good to have around a baby. Then again when the baby was born Claire knew Lily would be all over her, mommy's little helper. "That's good sweetie. See Mrs. Watson wont let him bite you." She smiled warmly placing her hand gently on her stomach. The baby wasn't kicking yet, but she could feel it moving.
With that Lily looked at it also. Claire was kind of afraid of the effects this baby would have on her dear daughter. What if Claire got postpartum depression, she was sure on her way to it. Then what if something happened. She didn't know what to do. Luckily her train of thought was diverted by Lily's question. At first she was surprised by it. What was she to say? Then with a smile she answered, "I breathe for her. The air I take in goes to her also." She took in a big breath just for shows. One thing Claire wanted to teach Lily now was that even in her stomach the baby was alive, it was about the only lesson Lily wouldn't forget.

"Oh..." Lily said, the frown still fixed to her face as she tried to imagine how the air got to the baby when it was their mother who was breathing. The fact that her mother said 'she' didn't quite get to her, so Lily still didn't know whether she was having a baby brother or a baby sister. " If the baby is a girl, we could name her Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella...or better yet. Belle! I like Belle momma" Lily said and started to get excited at the thought of that she was going to be a big sister. Smiling big from ear to ear, Lily took a short pause before giving possible names if it would be a boy. "If it's a boy his name could be Prince Eric, Prince Phillip or Aladdin, but I'd rather want it to be a girl." She giggled. She really enjoyed spending time with her mother. It made her take her mind off her father's death.
Lily was just about so say something more when a waiter walked up to their table, ready to take their orders. Instead of making eye contact with the man dressed in black and white, Lily lowered her gaze and got down from the chair to walk around the table, over to her mother. Something about the man scared her. Maybe it was his dark firm eyes? Whatever it was, Lily didn't feel comfortable and sought comfort in her mother.

((ooc: Your posts are fine.))
The young girl amused Claire. She was so innocent. Claire realized that she hadn't told Lily the good news yet. In fact Claire had only gone to see the doctor that morning. She smiled at the thought of the names. Belle wouldn't be to bad. She and Lily would have fun coming up with names. Together. Smiling she looked down at her daughter and said softly, "I have some good news. I went to the doctor today and guess what? You're going to have a little sister." She smiled even wider at the joyous look on the young girls face. She had known that Lily had wanted a sister and in truth so did Claire. She knew how to take care of girls, and having a boy in the house would just remind her of Charlie. Quickly she discarded that thought and turned to happier things, trying not to think of the man that had raped her either. Even if it was his daughter she wasn't going to let that get to her, it was still her child. "Belle would be nice, wouldn't it. But I think i like Rose lime your name." She smiled again.
Then looked up to see the waiter. Claire looked down at her daughter who quickly jumped out of her seat and came over to her. Claire's heart sank. The girl had become so painfully shy since her father's death. There was a time when she used to shout out what she wanted to eat and laugh with the waiter, but now... Looking at Lily Claire wrapped her arms around her. "It's okay, Lily, he just wants to ask what you want to eat." Claire whispered to the girl then looked up at the man. Indeed he didn't look like the nicest person. "Sorry, she's just a little shy." Claire found herself saying. "I'm going to have the hamburger, everything on it." Claire had a slight craving for peanut butter, but she figured it wouldn't be good to ask for that on her burger. "And..." Looking down at Lily she asked, "What do you want, sweetie?" [/blockquote]

Lily was of course very pleased to hear that she was getting a sister instead of a brother. "Rose? Nah, I like Belle better." Lily said happily. " And she could wear a yellow dress like Belle from the Beauty and the Beast!" She had sure been obsessed with all those Disney Princesses lately.
Lily looked up at the waiter one more time but still held onto her mother's arm. " I want a hamburger like you..." Lily said more to her mother than to the waiter. Even though the waiter smiled and tried his best not to look too scary when Clarie said that Lily was shy, Lily still didn't trust him. "...and fries" She added a few short seconds after. She normally didn't eat all the french fries but she really wanted to have them anyway. If she could, was her mother's decision.
Lily watched him scribble down something on his note pad and telling them their dinner would be ready shorty, before he left. His heavy footsteps was heard until he disappeard behind the door to the kitchen. Lily turned her head back to her mother as a shiver went through her body. " I don't like him." She mumbled and motioned that she wanted to sit in her mother's lap with her hand. The truth was, that Lily found it hard to trust and talk to any male persons that tried to talk to her or her mother. Lily didn't know what had happened Claire five months ago, but since Clarie didn't go out much and took distance from the world around, Lily picked up the vibes and got a little insecure herself. She did everything her mother did lately. If and when her mother put on make up for example, Lily would imitate her infront of the mirror in her mother's bedroom. "Do you like him?" Lily wondered, looking up at her mother with her big blue eyes.

"Do you like him?" "To be fair all the guy really did was ask for you food." Came a voice from beside the mother and daughter pair. If they were to look to the side they would see Krys Robin, her brown hair tucked half heartedly beneath a black cap looking like her usual hacker self, hands tucked in pockets she gave a little shrug accompanied by a smile. "You can't really just judge the guy based on that." She finished, though there was a soft tone of teasing in her voice as she smiled to both females.
"I mean, I look pretty scary and I'm not. Right Lilster?" She poised the question to the little girl that she had met and spent time with on many an occasion. In saying this she leaned forward a bit to give the little girl a playful, silly wiggle of her eyebrows hoping to prompt a giggle like she usually could. She knew the Burton family well and despite their lack of involvement with the FBI lately (given recent circumstances) she still remained close. In fact Claire was one of the few people that Krys would actually pick up the phone for that wasn't on her CT team.
Krys had been with the FBI for five years (now she was 22) though it was on and off after her juvenile arrest for hacking. This meant that she had met Claire around the time she had begun dating Charlie (a friend of Krys', in fact one of her first not counting Matt when she started her employment). For a brief stint Claire was actually supposed to be Krys' psychologist (when Matt found out about her history) but she had managed to wiggle out of it. To this day she still had not sit on Claire's couch, and she planned on keeping it that way.
Krys' brown eyes then fell upon Lily's french braids, of course she had to make a comment but it wasn't anything Lily wouldn't have been used to. It was just Krys' tomboyish sense of humor. "Oh Miss Burton, whatever have you done to your hair?" She teased, shaking her head as if feigning offense to the braids themselves before crossing her arms over her chest in playful challenge. Though Krys and Lily were very different they still enjoyed a rare soccergame in the backyard on the few occasions Krys had time to visit or vice versa (when Claire did for a case). More and more Krys found that, oddly enough, she enjoyed those visits.
Straightening with a bit of a smile Krys gave an awkward half wave. "Hey Claire." Her hands reinserted themselves in her coat pockets. Restaraunts were always cold, and Krys always naturally was of that state anyways so she seeked solace in whatever way she could. "I'm leaving in two days. Out on loan again." She explained in seeing Claire's knowing look. The motherly look. Claire was well aware that Krys' home base was in New York so the explanation was necessary no matter how fleeting.

Claire smiled. Maybe in a few weeks Lily would be over the Disney princesses and they could find another name, not that she didn't like Belle, it was a beautiful name, but that was one thing Claire had loved about being pregnant with Lily when Charlie was still alive, they had talked and talked for hours about what they should name her. It was some of the funnest times she had had. Though anything time since freshmen year of high school had been a good time with Charlie. And Claire wanted some of that fun now, with her daughter, and more importantly with her husband's daughter. Lily looked so much like her father it pained Claire to look at her sometimes. Her eyes were the main thing, and her hair was more the shade of blond that Charlie's was.
Looking up at the Waiter apologetically she said, "She'll have the hanburger and the fries as well." Great French fries and ice cream, she wasn't going to sleep tonight. Maybe it was the way that Lily didn't like any guy now that made Claire cave and give the girl fries. She hated the fact that she couldn't keep the tension she felt around any guy, no matter how nice he really was, away from her. It was so sad that Claire couldn't just let her life go on like normal. That it had taken her five months to feel comfortable going out to eat again. It was even worse when Lily said she didn't like the man and asked if she did. What was she to say? Letting her daughter crawl onto her lap, something that in a few months when her stomach got even bigger Lily wouldn't be able to do. Petting her head she was about to answer when a voice broke in.
It took everything in Claire not to jump. She looked over to Krys Robin, one of the friend's Charlie had made in the FBI, let alone one of her FBI friends. Many times Claire asked Krys to babysit for her, being one of the only people in the world that she still trusted. Sure Krys lived and was based mainly in New York, but she was down in Washington, D.C. almost every week. That's how Charlie got to know her. He worked on the normal kind of crimes, drug busts one day bank robber the next. Sometimes because he was such a good cop he was called in to help with counter terror, some times Krys was sent to help his unit. It all depended. Then there was the female connection. Charlie had invited her over to dinner once right when Lily had been born and the two of them hit it off. And it turned out Krys loved kids. Then Claire was a stay at home mom. Then she got into psychology and worked with victims of crimes. Now she was working was child victims with the FBI, a field she could luckily bring Lily to, not that she needed to everyday since she went to school now, for at least some of the days, normal half days.
"Hey Krys." She said her Australian accent standing even more. It was kind of odd that Claire was Australian and Charlie had been British, and out of the two Lily had picked up on many the British, not that the two accents were that far apart. "Yeah, you've been doing lately?" She asked, and unconsciously, one hand still on Lily in her lap, went to her stomach. She wasn't sure if Krys knew what had happened to her, or what. She would have rather she not know. Not everyone needed to know. But then it had also been over a year since Charlie's murder so how would she explain being pregnant? The answer was she didn't need to. She was having another kid that was the end of it. Looking down at Lily she smiled and said, "You remember Aunt Krys, right?" And of course the child did. She was hoping that Krys could get her back to her fun mood that she was in before the scary waiter came by.

Lily turned her head around as she heard a familiar voice. When she recognised the face, a smile crept onto her lips and a wave of excitment washed over her. "Krys!" The four year old exclaimed happily and jumped down from her mother's lap to run and hug the friend to the family. Wrapping the arms around the woman's hips, Lily giggled and shook her head as a reply to Krys' question. "No, you're not scary, but I've known you forever." Letting go of the hug, Lily returned to her mother and crawled up onto her lap before leaning across the table to reach her glass on the otherside. "Momma and I are going to eat hamburgers and fries for dinner today." Lily said happily, struggling to reach the glass. "Are you going to have some too?" After a few failed attempts to reach the glass she gave up and took her mother's water instead. She sure was thirsty. As far as Lily could remember, they hadn't done anything that strenuous today. First she had been to school, where she played with her friends and pet the bird Jackson. After her mother had picked her up early, Lily had been with Claire at her job, but that was pretty much it. Still, she was very thirsty.
When Krys teased Lily about her hair, Lily stuck out her tongue at Krys before bringing her hand to one of the braids. "I love my braids. They are called french braids and my momma made them this morning." She explained and glanced back at her mother, like she wanted her to verify that. Even though Lily knew Krys was only teasing her, she got a little insecure of how she looked, but tried really hard not to show it. "Maybe she can make french braids on you too, if you want. Right Momma? You can make french braids for auntie Krys too, right? right?"

"I've been doing alright. Keeping busy, as usual. Bureau's been loaning me out an awful lot to the BAU." Krys couldn't help but notice Claire's hand placed prominantly atop her stomach. Krys wasn't a profiler by any means but such obvious gestures led to more obvious conclusions. Claire hadn't been pregnant when Charlie passed away, at least to Krys' knowledge, and even if she had in secret the baby would have been born by now. No, this was something else and yet Krys couldn't quite figure it out, nor did she have the confidence to question about it. But that didn't mean that she couldn't address it.
"You're looking..." Her voice trailed off as she realized she lacked the words to decribe 'a happy pregnant'. So instead a lopsided smile overtook her lips and she gave a goofy look. "Not fat. Just... Not fat." Hopefully Claire would remember Krys' own awkwardness. For the past few years the woman accepted it, she even seemed to encourage it. Something Krys was secretly greatful for. Her own social faux pas weren't blatantly strewn out for her to revel in, despite Claire's profession. "When are you due?" That's what normal people asked in this situation, right?
In hearing Lily yell out excitedly with a smile, Krys of course smiled back watching the girl rush to her the data analyst instinctively placed her arms out in case the girl couldn't stop. Krys had been there many times before, especially when in her lair when she figured out something particularly exciting. It was sometimes difficult to contain her excitement so she could relate.
As Lily's little arms wrapped around her Krys seemed to still for a moment by the physical gesture, though it had happened before. Once she adjusted her face softened and she gently rested her hands on the little girl's shoulders. If her hair had been down she would have ran her hand through it but right now she seemed particularly proud of those braids and Krys didn't wish to risk ruining them.
"I would kiddo, but I'm just passing through. Grabbing something to go before I head back to work." She explained gently before nodding toward where the kitchen was. "They're just wrapping me something to go and then I'll be out of your... italian braided hair?" Of course Krys was just pretending to confuse the title with something else but a part of her also couldn't comprehend the importance of hair styles hence why her own was tucked under a hat and unavailable for braiding.

Claire smiled at Krys. She seemed to awkward. She didn't want to call Claire fat, but then she didn't know what to saw. It was very amusing. Charlie knew had to pick his friends. She had to laugh at that moment. "December 7th." She answered warmly. "Thank you." She knew she was trying to be nice and want to let her know that she knew that, even if it hadn't quite come out that way, not that she had sounded mean at all. Luckily she didn't seem to want to ask the situation. Which was fine with Claire. Maybe one day when Lily wasn't around she would talk to her. Yet really she hadn't told anyone out those she needed to that she had been raped. Maybe she could make up a story that Charlie had frozen some sperm before dieing and she just decided to have his next child. Kind of twenty-first century, but it would work.
Claire hadn't noticed Lily trying to get her water from across the table. If she had she would have helped, afraid that she would spill it. Luckily she decided to drink her's instead. Smiling Claire moved Lily's glass closer so if she got thirty again she could reach it this time. Then she went off on her beautiful braids again. She loved anything that made her girly, and that was one of them. Claire laughed softly at the thought of Krys in French braids. "Yeah you know what, Lil, that's a great idea. Maybe next times she's around we can tie her down and braid her hair. I could teach you how to do it on her." It was kind of evil on Claire's part, but Lily would love that. Anything to learn to make the pretty braid.
Smiling at Krys she knew that Lily would love for her to stay. She didn't want to be to pushy, but she did want to make the offer. "You can always sit with us. It's nearly six o'clock, you shouldn't have to work that late." She said motioning to the now empty other side of the table. Her mothering instincts coming out again. Sure she was only a little over three years older than her, but she had been through so much in a short amount of time. By Krys' age she was a mom so in truth she was really years older than her.

"No, it's called french braids." Lily corrected and giggled at the brunette's mistake. She was completely unaware that Krys confused the title on purpose. As any four year old, Lily loved to correct people when they were wrong and she knew the right answer. It made her feel like she knew more than she actually did, which gave her a sort of smug feeling. She giggled and nodded her head at her mother's words about tying Krys down and braid her hair next time she was around. "Yeah"
As the grown-ups started to talk about Claire being pregnant, Lily turned her head around to glance at her mother's stomach behind her. Under the pink maternity shirt, a bump was shown and Lily placed her hand gently on the stomach. "My baby sister's in there" She pronounced proudly with a slight smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Lily was really looking forward to become a big sister and had planned to teach her baby sister all she knew. What she didn't know yet was that, once the baby was born most of attention would be on her and not on Lily anymore. Or that's how it used to be in most families. Some kids handled it pretty well while others got jealous. How Lily would handle the situation was too soon to tell, but seeing how proud Lily was to become a sister it would probably all turn out well.
Lily turned her head back to Krys once she realised Krys had said she couldn't stay. The expression on her face was somewhat sadder now and a heavy sigh was heard from Lily. "But you just got here. I don't want you to go." she said making a sad puppy face, which she always tried to do to get what she wanted. It didn't always work but sometimes it actually did.

And the thought of being tied down and having her hair braided, Krys' whole body noticably tensed and her brown eyes gave a sort of worried look, much like a deer in headlights. Being subjected to such feminine wiles was not one of her strong points. In fact Penelope Garcia had a tough enough time getting her to wear the dress and to not feel completely idiotic in it. It was a giant feet, that was for sure and even the false promise out of jest of yanking her hair into braids caused her nerves to spike.
"No, no, that's alright. I like my hair just fine as is, I'll thank you very much." She responded, reaching up to adjust her black cap which rested atop her head and hid her, no doubt, messy brown hair. Sometimes you just couldn't be bothered with appearances, there were much more important things happening in the world than what shade of lipstick you should be showcasing. Especially in a world where people were being killed in various numbers and degrees. Krys was subjected to that little reality every single day via computer screen. It was one she tried to distance herself from as best that she could.
Giving the brim of her hat a light tuck so to adjust it she smiled apologetically. "Late or not you know how my workdays get, Claire." Krys noted gently. Claire, having been married to Charlie, would have known exactly how hectic and long the schedules could be within the various factions of the Bureau. Krys always put in long hours no matter who she was working for. She was just a natural hard worker, and besides, if she kept her mind busy she couldn't worry about other, more personal things.
Turning her attention onto the little girl she gave another, awkward and apologetic expression. "Sorry Lils. Wish I could, but I've got more work to do and you know how important the work I do is, right?" Krys never spoke 'down' to children as many people had a habit of doing. She always spoke to them like they were mini adults, she probably wasn't capable of anything less. It just seemed to be a common sense point to her.
In catching her pout Krys shook her head with a quiet laugh. "Now don't pout." Reaching out she gave Lily's left braid a light little tug. "I'll be seeing you in a few weeks remember?" Her gaze was cast sideways on Claire. They had made plans for while Krys was in town for a lecture for Claire to go out for a much needed break from motherhood (as everyone occasionally needed) and the data analyst would be in charge of babysitting. This would be a site to behold for sure.
"A baby sister huh?" She poised with a lighter tone to her voice. "That'd be great. You know, I have two sisters." Yep, two sisters and one brother. All younger. All barely spoken about by Krys. For some reason that very few people knew she rarely spoke of her family.

Claire watched Krys carefully. The younger women seemed to hate the idea of braids so much that you could see her shiver. It was very odd how different people could be. She wondered if Lily would ever grow out of her girly-girl phase or if she would stay that way all the way through high school. Those years scared Claire. She wasn't sure what she was going to do when Lily became a teenager, maybe she would still be her sweet self, yet there was no telling for sure. Then there was going to be the new baby as well, only five years younger than Lily. And at that point there was no doubt in her mind that she would still be single then. Claire couldn't imagine finding a guy that made her feel safe, not that Charlie had.
Sighing Claire nodded. She did know how long those days could get. She had always hated when Charlie came home late, but he didn't do it that often. He had always said that his job was important but he wouldn't be doing Claire or Lily any good by staying late then getting kicked out. It had made Claire laugh. He was truly the only guy for her, they had been soul mates, they still were. Claire softly touched the golden locket around her neck, the one that she always wore. It had been a gift from Charlie not long before he had been murdered. It had his picture and Lily's in it. He was always with her, and he always would be. Frowning Claire looked at Krys as if she were her daughter. "You know the more you work doesn't always mean the more bad guys you catch." Claire knew that more than most people. "Some times what you need to find that little think that breaks the case is take a break. Maybe get some sleep, and eat something. Get your mind away from the case." Claire looked down at Lily, trying not to talk to seriously around her. She knew she understood the horrors of the world, but Claire still wanted to shield her from them as much as she could given her situation.
Smiling she said, "Yep, You and Krys will get to spend the whole day together." She said lightly touching her head. She smiled up at Krys and gave her a thumbs up saying that the day was still on. Krys was one of the only people Claire trusted to watch her kid. She had learned that not everyone is who they say they are.

OOC: I really tried to reply, but my muse don't seem to be with me this week. Hopefully my posts will get better in time. I'm starting to think that my brain is on holiday too. lol ______________
Keeping her pout, Lily nodded her head as Krys mentioned how important her work was. She knew very well how important it could be. With her father working for the FBI he'd had to work late at some points and later he had told Lily about the cases he had worked on that wasn't too gruesome. Even though he didn't mean it, it scared her sometimes and Lily couldn't sleep for weeks. That always resulted in her sleeping in her parents bed, which she normally wasn't allowed.
"Really? I will get to spend a whole day with Krys? How long is a few weeks?" She asked after a few moments of silence as Krys and her mother talked to each other. Lily knew better than to interrupt adults while they were talking. She had learned from experience that interrupting grown-ups could result in angry looks, and Lily didn't like that. She leaned back on her mother but since her mother was pregant, her stomach was in the way and was making it comfortable for Lily. So she straightened up again and turned her head around instead, so she could look at her mother. "Where are you going to go in a few weeks? Are you coming back?" Since Charlie passed away Lily hadn't been without her mother longer than a few hours when she was in school. When Krys was going to babysit her in a few weeks, that was going to be the first time she had been away from her mother a whole day. Sure, Lily was excited but at the same time a little scared that Clarie would leave and never come back, just like her father did.
