"Jamie." He said, speaking slowly to the young boy. He hadn't known the young boy's Before name, but Jamie was his name now. "James Fay is your name. Maybe the people taking care of you before called you Jack Hotchner, but they lied. That wasn't your name. This is your home, and this is your name. MarieAnn is your mom, and I am your dad." He smiled at him, a nice, human smile. It always took awhile for them to come around, and Gerald was ready for that. It all just took a little bit of convincing. By the end of the week, when this all ended, they'd understand. They always did.
"And Lexie, it's the same with you. MarieAnn and I are your parents. Your name is Alexandra Fay. It might take awhile for you to understand. Lily was your before name, just like Jack. You were always Lexie. Those other people lied to you. This is your true life."
The man, something crazy in hs eyes, looked towards Krys. "We're all a family here. There's no need to be scared.” He lowered his voice, trying to explain something to Krys. "You want Jamie and Lexie to be happy again, don't you?"
He didn't notice her leaving until those precious minutes were gone. He'd been too engrossed in trying to continue his explanation of how their life would be to MarieAnn. She needed to understand. It would be so much easier for the children if he had her on his side.
So when he finally noticed the missing member of the family, and looked towards the stairs, he couldn't even hear her footsteps anymore.
He turned enraged eyes to Krys, and Jack. "She escaped! You let your own daughter escape... just like last time, you killed them, I know it! They said it was an accident but there's just no way, no way MarieAnn." It was the first sign of any anger that he'd shown, and he made two jerking movements - one towards the stairs, then back towards Krys and Jack. If he left, it was possible that they'd escape too.
He hesitated for the second time that day.

Krys felt her eyes widen as this strange man continued his charade. He kept reassuring her that she was this 'MarieAnn' no matter what she said. Becoming increasingly frusterated, more so because she had two children behind her that she had now self appointed herself as temporary guardian of, her face turned red and she announced a bit louder and more firmly: "My name is Krys!" Sure it may have been childish but she knew what her name was and she didn't want this crazy man under some dillusion that she was a trollop named MarieAnn. She was Krys Robin: Socially awkwar data analyst for Counter Terror gosh darnit!
"And they are looking for them!" She could not let this man litter the two children's heads with worrisome thoughts, especially with ones that she knew to be false. Krys was stubborn even in the face of harm and death especially when friends or little ones were concerned. "They have REAL parents who love them. Parents with connections!" This wasn't an empty threat, but as soon as she uttered it she felt stupid. What would connections matter to a crazy man? Absolutely nothing, that's what. But still she had to try... Anything to get them out of here. Maybe if he took a swing they could make a run for it. Not the most logical of thinking but Krys was willing to try anything if it meant saving Jack and Lilys' lives.
Krys' chin nestled atop Jack's skull amidst his messy hair. Her hands holding him close trying to provide little comfort though she wasn't exactly sure that it was helping, especially with how she was yelling at the other man, but it was her way of protecting them. "Sh... Sh... It's okay. You're okay." She told him softly, rocking ever so slightly before Jack pulled away. Krys found herself getting to her feet.
Brown eyes glanced about the dark room. A basement perhaps. For what she wasn't sure but her brain was running through all kinds of scenarios that could lead to escape even if it was just for the two smaller ones. Her brow strained and she grit her teeth. Her head was beginning to pound again from even daring to think, but she fought through it. That's when she saw where Lily was looking: A staircase. It clicked in Krys' throbbing mind. There'd be no way that they all could get out, but Lily could make a run for it... Maybe keep running until she found help. Lily was an intelligent girl, the data analyst knew this so calmly, though her legs gave a slight shake, Krys looked back to Gerald. She'd distract him as long as she could to give Lily ample time to dash.
"You're not his dad. You're not either of their dad. You could never be his dad. His dad is the greatest man I know... You... You're garbage!" Surely this shout would touch a nerve but that was exactly what Krys was trying to do. And finally, when Lily made a dash for it Krys ran toward Gerald, somehow becoming wrapped up in his arms, but even so she shouted in Lily's direction with such volume and intensity that her voice became hoarse.
"RUN LILY!" She cried out, struggling against the man's much stronger arms she gave a kick. Maybe if she kept him occupied Jack too could make a run for it. "KEEP RUNNING UNTIL YOU FIND HELP! RUN!" She hoped to god the little girl would keep going, keep running until maybe she came to a road, or another house, or a phone. Anything. She was their last hope (unless Jack also escaped). What would happen to herself? She had no idea. But frankly that wasn't her concern right now. Her concern was getting those two children to safety. Anywhere but here.

The woman he recognized as MarieAnn slammed into him, and he found himself holding her still immediatly. How dare she talk to him like that, his own wife? She had no right, not after he'd brought her back here, going through all that trouble when /she/ was the one who'd left and never come back, ended up dead in that ditch! The ungrateful little thing!
Before he even knew what he was doing, he'd slapped Krys full across the face, his anger rising, his arms shaking. He didn't even know what to think - he hadn't meant to hurt MarieAnn, would never hurt her ... but she had to understand, she was crazy! She wasn't speaking the truth! He knew now that taking her in addition to the children had been a mistake. She was too much of a freewilled, strong person: marieann always was, why hadn't he realized it would be a problem?
Angry now, with wild craziness in his eyes, he pushed Krys back against the wall, not even waiting to see her fall, hearing it instead. In the back of his mind, he hoped he hadn't hurt her: after all, he'd never /really/ want to hurt MarieAnn - maybe, only, to protect Lexie and Jamie.
But by the time he got to the top of the steps, Lexie was gone.
His scream of rage nearly shook the door, which he slammed and locked.
"Now we've lost her! Your own daughter! Your own /sister/. She's as good as dead!" He shook his finger at them, his eyes wide. "Oh, but now I'll never be able to trust you. You'll be down here the whole week! Right until we get ice cream!"

Lily climbed the stairs as fast as she could, holding onto the banister tight. She could hear Krys voice in a distance, even though she was only a few feet away. The adrenaline was pumping in her veins and the climbing was one big challenge itself. The man could easly have caught up with her but he chose to stay with the others. Lily had no idea whether he was behind her, trying to get her back down and up against the greyish, cold wall or if he wasn't. Her main goal was to get out of there and get help.
Once she reached the other room above the basement, the bright light from the sun blinded her. Even so, she kept on running and running, trying to find her way to the front door. In the livingroom however, she stopped, her heart skipping a beat or two. There were pictures on a table. Not only a few...many! Lily grabbed one of the photos to get a better look at it. There was a blonde girl on this one. She was playing in the park. The same park Lily used to go to with her mother. The girl had a light green T-shirt and blue jeans. Her hair was put up in a pony tail and she was talking to someone. Someone that wasn't seen on the picture. Someone that was hidden behind blurry green leaves that was in the way of the camera. The little girl in the photograph was Lily. That picture was taking two days ago when Claire had taken Lily to the park after school. Lily dropped the picture and took up a few others. They were all on her. She wiped down all the hundreds of pictures from the table and watched how they danced down and landed gently on the floor. It was like Lily's feet had been glued to the floor. She couldn't move. She just stood there and stared at all the pictures. On some of them was Krys and others Jack, the little boy, and some was on Lily herself.
Lily looked up seeing a bigger picture hanging on the wall above the livingroom couch. It was of a little boy that kind of looked like Jack but not quite. He didn't have the same coloured eyes. Behind him sat a girl maybe a year older or so. She was blonde with blue eyes and had a happy smile fixed onto her face. Her right arm was wrapped around her brother who looked as happy as she did. Who were these people?
Hearing the man yelling from the basement, probably at Krys, made Lily woke up from her shocked trance. She had to get out of there. She had to get help and help Krys and Jack out of there. She left the room heading to the hallway. The front door was of course locked but Lily got it open with a lot of will. There wasn't a lot of people on the street and Lily had no idea where to go. She didn't know where she was. She had never seen the place before. After a moments of hesitation she decided to go left. Walking down the street Lily's eyes started to water and her bottom lip to tremble. She had no idea where she was going and all she could think of was Krys back at the house with the crazy man. What was he going to do to them? She had to bit down on her bottom lip to try prevent the tears to fall. When she came to the end of the street she couldn't bring herself to cross the road. Her mother's words rang in her head. "Never cross the street without an adult, Lily. It's dangerous".
Cars was honking people was talking, both with other people and on the phone. There was deffinitely more people here than back at the house. Lily was looked back at where she just had come from. She had no idea what house it was or how far she had walked. All she wanted was her mommy and for Krys and that little boy to be safe. These thoughts made her eyes mist over and a single cool tear made a path down her pale cheek. It wouldn't take long until more tears would follow that path...
___________ OOC: Could someone else play a civilian that finds Lily and later contacts the police?
