It was complete chaos in New York, and that was where the three Musketeers, and the newbie, where sent. A virus had been released on the streets and they had to help figure out what was going on. So the four lab rats were now in the new York crime lab, surrounded by hundreds of other forensic scientist working all toward the same goal. Two people had already died and there were hundreds of other evidence that had to be processed and analysis.
Greg was whelmed, for the first time in his life, by what was going on. He was still the newbie though he had been working for the FBI for a while now. But he had never dealt with anything like this. His mind of working at a hundred miles an hour trying to figure out what to do. he had a stack of DNA evidence from all the scene that people had gotten sick, as well as off the victims themselves. He didn't know where to start. They were on a time limit and every second that passed was one more second that someone got closer to death. If he choose the wrong evidence to analysis first then someone might die. Taking a large breath he went to work on the stuff gotten off of the first two victims. If they had been exposed first then that might give then their killer faster.
After a moment of working, now just waiting for CODAS to give him something he looked over to Tori, Lance, and Quin, all working just as hard as he was. Greg couldn't just sit and not talk, though, it just made him more worried about what was going on. "You got anything yet?" He asked the worry apparent in his voice. And for once he didn't care. There was no shame being sad for all those that were sick and dying.

This time, Lance was panicked. No, that would be an understatement. To make the description stronger, Lance was staring at the computer, glasses on, contacts forgotten, hyperventilating and telling himself to hurry up. He was helping Tori run a blood plasma scan while trying to identify the relationship between the type of virus and the duration for decomposition. And at the same time, he was analyzing through the range of victims.
This was rather tiring. But Lance was too busy feeling worried to notice. Earlier, he had a sneezing fit and now he was breathing so loudly and quickly that it was a little disturbing. He pressed the pressure and compression buttons on the scanner for Tori, turning back to his paperwork. "Age X is more vulnerable than it's square root to the virus, resulting in sqr X owning a more defendable immune system. If someone was prone to a virus when older..." he paused, lifting up his pencil and thinking, "... hm." he scratched the last line off, improvising.
"The integrated body system of organs, tissues, cells, and cell products such as antibodies that differentiates self from nonself and neutralizes potentially pathogenic organisms or substances may lose its immunity when exposed to a large amount of leukocytes that lack in pure blood components," Lance mumbled all the while, sweat dripping down the side of his forehead.
Turning his head to look at Greg, Lance spoke really quickly. "I haven't got anything big, but I do know that according to the rapid circulation amongst New York that this probably isn't the only city they're targeting." Lance assumed that the culprit was 'they' due to the number of already harmed people. One person couldn't spread it round so fast, could they? He looked at his teammates again, gulping. "What about you guys then?"

Tori stared at her progress. Nothing was making any sense to her today! Everything just seemed so chaotic and well, wrong. This, of course, wasn't exactly true. Tori's progress was alright, although very, very slow.
Rubbing her eyes as she continued through the scan, adding purposeful chemicals at the appropriate times, she looked up from her work to see Greg and Lance also intently bent over their work. She turned to the table beside her where some other girl was filing through the non-degradable evidence and pointed for the penknife.
It was handed to her, and she continued her work. But what she was seeing was certainly odd. The texture of the blood plasma, though a healthy color, was strangely congested. Her eyes squinted, looking at a possibly important piece of evidence. She raised her head and waved with her hand frantically, asking them to come.
"See here? There's a mutation in the DNA of this person, causing the blood cells and platelets to congest, giving us, well, this." Tori pointed at the liquid, gray-yellow and thick. OOC;; I honestly have no idea what I'm talking about there. I just grabbed it off wiki... XP

Greg looked at Lance. What he said scared the even temper man. This might not be the only city that was being targeted? That meant that more people would die if he was right. That meant that this could turn into something that they couldn't control. They had to work fast and find a cure to this before it got out of hand, but Greg wasn't sure if they could do that. There was just so much that they had to do, so my variables. And so little time. Was it really possible? And what about finding the people that did this. There was just to much evidence to go through, and so little chance that he might find a piece of him that might lead them to the answer.
Reid looked over at Tori as she waved them over. Greg took one more look at the computer, willing it to give him an answer, before he turned and found his spot in front of her. A mutilation in the DNA.... that meant that the Virus targeted the DNA... Greg tried to think what this meant, being the DNA specialist, but he had no idea. It targeted the DNA and Made a grey liquid stuff. Suddenly something clicked. "RNA." He said maybe a little to loudly. "The virus must alter the RNA which in turn causes the DNA to mutate." He though looked back at his computer that was now beeping.
He moved back over to it to see the results of the test. The DNA belonged to the Third victim. It was mutated as well. He looked over it trying to figure something out. There had to be something in the DNA that would tell them what was going on. He just couldn't see it yet. He could sense the answer was there, somewhere. And he was getting close. As he looked at the screen he feel silent, not say a word. Barely hearing what was going on around him. ((ooc: It's okay. I have no idea what I'm talking about either....))[/size]
