{{Due to the persistant, yet very much needed, urging of a certain person (xD), this thread has been born. It takes place after the 'I Run To You' thread, and involves Morgan cornering Reid at work, noticing that something's off with Reid since Krys' kidnapping and return. So, because Morgan is Morgan, he decides to talk it out of him.}}
Morgan was a profiler, and therefore tended to see the acute aspects of a person. Derek would notice the day to day changes in a person's complexion, eyes, body, the way that they talked and carried themselves. It was part of his job, yes, but after all this time it became something that he did automatically and not only to those he was supposed to be profiling, but all around them: people he saw on the street, in his apartment complex, while at a restaurant, and his coworkers.
It was in this way that he noticed the changes in Dr. Spencer Reid.
From Morgan's desk in the BAU bullpen, he saw Reid in the break room, pouring the (what number was it now?) cup of coffee that day. As he saw him now, Morgan renoticed these changes in Reid. There were dark circles under the younger agent's eyes that hadn't been so pronounced before, and Morgan knew that he'd never drank this much coffee before. His eyes held a certain exhausted quality, and he seemed to be skinnier than he'd ever been.
All this since Krys' kidnapping. It was almost as if the agent had gone through her kidnapping with her.
But there were other things about Reid that Morgan had noticed, and these things had appeared quite awhile before Krys' kidnapping, and instead since he had met the technical analyst. These things - the way he carried himself more upright, for example - he'd noticed happening since the day that Morgan had found the two of them on the steps of Quantico eating ice cream.
Yesterday, he, Matthew, and Hayley from Counter Terrorism had encountered the two agents in Spencer's apartment - totally innocent - when Krys had been late for the plane and Reid hadn't shown up for work.
It was then that Morgan knew for sure.
Spencer Reid was in love.
Of course, in a true oblivious nature like Reid always had, the man didnt' even realize this.
Morgan watched Reid drag his hand along his face, pouring himself the second cup of coffee since his ten minute break had started.
That was it. Morgan knew he had to step in. He was afraid the kid would slip up on the job - he didn't want this to go in the same way that it had gone with Elle after she'd shot and killed that UnSub. He remembered that Reid had had stopped at Greenaway's apartment, tried to talk to her. It hadn't worked, everyone knew that, because she was gone.
Morgan wouldn't let things go that way. Not when things were finally starting to look up for the kid. He was in love. Pushing himself out of his chair, Morgan meandered over to the break room and leaned casually against the counter that held the coffee pot.
"How are you?"

Reid was exhausted. he hadn't slept all that well since Krys' abduction. Much like the poor woman he had had nightmares about what had happened to her. The horrors that she had faced. In many ways it was much like he had gone through the kidnapping with him. He was so worried about Krys Robin. She had looked terrible when they had found her, all the stuff Gerald put her through. It was to much for Reid to think about. Because he loved her. Last night had been one of the best nights he had had, and one of the worst. First it wasn't like all that happened was happy, actually most of it was crying and trying to get a person who doesn't care for herself one bit to realize that she matters. Then there was the fact that he hadn't gotten barely any sleep. Which wasn't doing him any good on the job. First he was late, and Morgan, Matt, and Hayley had all shown up on his door step, which he could have done with out because he knew at least one of them would get the wrong idea, luckily it seemed Morgan wasn't that person.
Reid had taken his ten minute break, and was downing coffee with a cup of sugar in each cup. He needed to wake up. He knew that he worked with a punch of people that could read his mind at any time. He needed to keep his head and make sure they thought he was okay. And in a way he was. In another he wasn't. It had been a long hard few days, and it didn't seem to be getting any better. What made it worse was that Krys had to go back to New York today, meaning they were 204 miles away from each other. There was no way that he would be able to keep an eye on her, and make sure she was doing okay, that far apart for each other.
Reid hadn't seen Morgan walk into the room. Nor did he hear him until he was right next to him asking if he was okay. Reid jumped and turned to face the other profiler. He knew that there was no way that he could have hidden what he was going through from those around him. It was the sad fact of working with a punch of profilers. But out of all the people that could have come to talk to him he was glade that it was Morgan. Out of them all he thought he connected best with Morgan. It was more than just being like brothers, but that he knew what he was going through most the time.
That didn't mean that he was going to make it easy for him though. He still didn't want to talk about his feelings and what he was going through. Even if Morgan would understand something told Reid that he wouldn't. That there was no way that he could understand what it was like to see the one you love being tortured. To see it in her eyes. Then there was the fact that he hadn't told anyone how he felt about Krys. But again he was sure if he knew they knew, heck they probably knew before he did. But Reid still hadn't told anyone about it, except for Oliver who pretty much beat it out of him. So Reid answered with a simple, "I'm fine." As he took another long drink of the hot coffee.

Morgan raised his brow and leaned back against the counter, eyeing the younger agent quizzically. In truth, he hadn't expected anything more than the answer 'I'm fine', but some small part of him had still hoped that Reid could have made it easy for the both of them. It didn't look like it was going to be that way, however, and Morgan finally sighed, reaching out and taking the coffee from Reid and placing it on the counter.
He looked him square in the eye, standing in front of him and ignoring any and all protests. "I'm not an idiot, Reid." Morgan said, daring him to contradict. "I'm not stupid - are you alright physically? Maybe, besides being barely able to stand." Again he ignored the coutneracts from the younger agent and continued with his speech. "But emotionally? I'm not so sure how you're holding up.
Do you remember when that son of a gun shot Garcia?" Of course he did, they all did. That case wasn't one that any of them were going to forget, but especially not Morgan. "I didn't sleep until JJ shot him, and I know that's exactly what you did during this case, Reid. But kid, Gerald's dead. Sure, she's scared right now - Garcia was for a long time too, and we both know Krys dealt with alot of things in her past - but you being exhausted isn't going to help her at all."
He shook his head, but there was a smile in his eyes. "You know, nobody in this office is blind, Reid. We see it."

Reid's hands feel to his sides when the cup was removed. he didn't fight it however, he knew it wasn't good to be downing so much caffeine. He wouldn't pass a drug test at this point with all the coffee and sugar running through him. His hands shake slightly at his sides, but Reid wasn't sure if it was from the conversation Morgan wanted to have, or it was the coffee. To try and prevent Morgan from seeing it he clasped his hands in front of himself, hopping that it would help. Then when Morgan looking him in the eye he took one look then he looked down at his clasped hands. He couldn't find it in him to look at the other man, knowing that everything would be playing across his eyes like a play on a stage.
Reid tried to stand a bit straighter when Morgan commented on the fact that he could barely stand, but found it to hard, only proving the other agent's point. Reid hated working for such smart people sometimes. Hated that he couldn't get away with anything. But in a way he also liked it. He wasn't the kind of person to go to someone and talk about what was going on, but if he was pushed into it he would share, and that was what the people he worked with did. They knew that he wasn't okay, and wanted to help. Yet this was something that he could barely confess to himself.
Of course Reid remembered what happened to Garcia. What he had forgotten was the obvious connection between Morgan and her. Reid had forgotten how much the two "cared for each other". Reid looked up and into Morgan's eyes for a second to see the pain. He knew how scared he had been when Garcia was in the hospital struggling for life. He knew that out of all the people in the office Morgan would be devastated if any one else go hurt, but even so more with Garcia... Reid was taken aback when Morgan said that they all saw "it". Saw what? That he wasn't sleeping? Or that he.... he liked Krys? Reid looked up again kind of panicked, yet more confused than anything. "See what?" he asked softly.

Morgan saw the younger agent's panicked look as he confronted him. Out of all the agents here, he was the one able to talk things out of him.
He leaned back against the counter, stretching a hand behind his neck and scratching. "Come on, kid. We're not blind." Pushing upward, he sat atop the counter, hoping that Hotch wouldn't come down and see that he was sitting there. "We see it. We see how you look at her. You've never been ... like this."

Reid Looked at his feet as Morgan talked. He knew that they weren't blind, but a small part of him kind of wished they were. It would be so much easier if he could do this alone, with out them watching over his shoulder. But then he figured that even if he worked with normal people it would be all to obvious. It seemed everyone knew what he was going through, even Oliver and Reid guessed so did Krys' family, at least her brother. It was hard sometimes. Yet he knew that he would never be able to get through this alone. Be able to figure it out with out Morgan helping him. There was a lot of stuff that he needed help with, and Morgan always seemed to be there with the right answers to everything. Reid figured that he should tell him, he should get he help that he needed.
When Morgan didn't come right out and say what Reid was thinking he was kind was sad. It would have been so much easy for Morgan to say it for him. Yet Reid knew he needed to learn to say it first. Still looking at the floor and said, "I've never felt like this before." His voice was soft, he didn't want any one but Morgan to hear what he had to say. Looking up at the older agent he added, "I... I don't know... but I mean.... um... I want her to be... um... safe... I... I really care for her and it hurts me to see her hurt...." he said finding it hard to speak. The kiss only hours earlier was clear in his mind. The feeling that he got from it. He wondered if he should tell Morgan about, try and explain what had happened. He and Krys still hadn't gotten a chance to talk about it, so he figured he might as well leave that part out for now.

"I know, kid." Morgan said, looking towards the younger agent. They'd seen each other through so much - how many countless times had the other almost died? How many times had they sat in an emergency room, hoping and praying that one of their team wasn't dead? His mind again flashed on Penelope.
He swallowed. "When it hurts, that's when you know it's real. When it hurts so much that you think something must be wrong." Morgan hardly knew where the words were coming from. he was, after all, the guy who trusted nobody easily, and nobody completely. He was the guy who'd admitted he wasn't good for anything steady. so where was this coming from?
Morgan thought he might know, even if he wasn't going to admit it to himself.
Admitting it to himself made things worse.

Reid know where Morgan's words were coming from. He knew, much like Morgan knew about Krys, that he liked Garcia. It wasn't hard to imagine the two of them together. They were always playing and making fun. They seemed like they were together already. It was kind of weird. They were kind of together. No one said anything, but that's the way it seemed. They could be dating for all anyone know, or cared. It wasn't like it mattered much. Everyone thought that the two of them would be perfect together. There was no doubt about that.
It was kind of the same way between Reid and Robin. They both liked each other, Reid was sure of that now. After the night he just had with her he was sure that she had to at least like him a little, more than she did anyone else at least. But they hadn't said anything about it. They hadn't talked about the kiss, they just knew, and trusted each other to always be there. And Reid would always be there for her. If she wanted to spend the night at his house again and talk then he would let her, even if it meant one more sleepless night. He was ready for that. It was what he wanted actually. He wanted her to stay with him. He wanted to talk all night, like a middle schooler and his first date.
Thinking about her sleeping on his chest. The light snoring noise she made replacing that of her sobs from the cellar she was held captive in. Though he hadn't noticed it before through his tiredness he was actually happy for the first time in weeks. He smiled at the thought of her. How innocent she was sleeping. And he loved the feeling and wanted it to never go away. Then Reid was brought back to reality where he was talking to Morgan. As another question, the only logical thing Reid could think of to say in that moment, came into mind he shifted uncomfortably. "What... what do I tell her..." He asked again thinking of the conversation he had with Oliver what Krys. The way that Oliver talked about dating and how easy it was to do. He figured Morgan would have the same kind of views but at least coming from Morgan it wouldn't be in the I'm better than you kind of tone that the rich man had. And Morgan was sure to put in in words "even Reid could understand".

This was the part he wasn't good at. For all his flirting and sweet talking, had the team ever seen Morgan with a girlfriend? It wasn't like the job allowed for it - JJ being the current exception - but it didn't make the situation any different. He'd never actually taken Garcia out on a date. He'd hadn't had a serious relationship in a long time.
He could have given the younger agent a fake answer, make some philosphical fact up - but Reid would know. They were profilers, after all, and he couldn't possibly fool Reid with a phony answer. It didn't mean that he wouldn't try to help, though - if there was ever anything that Morgan could do to help his team - Reid especially - he would try to the best of his ability.
But, while thinking - the answer came to him quite simply. What was one to do when he was in love? What could he say to the object of his affections?
"You tell her what's really going on in that genius brain of yours," Morgan said, poking Reid's noggin. "and I don't mean quantem phsyics, kid." It was the simplest and easiest answer that he could ever have thought of, though he felt like a hypocrite.
ooc// I'm sorry that sucked very badly.

Reid couldn't help but smiled at Morgan's response. It was funny, because it was true. But at the same time he was looking at the floor. He didn't know what else to do. He knew that Morgan was right, and the way he put it made it sound so much better. You just tell her what he where thinking and how you feel. That was something that Reid could do, even if it was just as uncomfortable. But it made sense. The next time he saw Krys he would just have to that. Explain to her what he felt, even if he had to use the L word. it was the only way to make things right. He was sure that Krys was going to start getting better. That after there night she would feel safe again and maybe with his help letting her know just how much cared about her she would get back to normal. Which would be good for all of them.
Then something Reid hadn't meant to happen did. He wasn't even thinking right. It just sort of came out. And the moment it did he regretted it, but at the same time he was glade that he had said it. It needed to be said. He needed to talk to some one and what better person than Morgan. Not to mention there conversation needed to have a happy note, and what was happier? Even if it was kind of embarrassing to Reid. "Last night... Krys and I kissed..." He said not being able to not smile at her said it. It made him happy and he knew it. It was way worth anything Morgan might say. ((ooc: Terrible post for a terrible post.))[/size]

"Then it's even more important that you tell her what's going on in there." Morgan said, not failing to notice Reid's embarrasement. So they hadn't been totally innocent then, as Morgan had thought. Morgan let a small smile overcome his face. In all the years he'd known Reid, he'd only known him have gotten kissed once - and he'd ended up in a pool. He'd looked like a drowned rat.
Morgan could tell that this was different. This was something real, not something that had happened over the course of a case. This was something that Morgan himself feared he'd never experience because he couldn't trust anyone enough to do so. "She's probably confused, now more then ever. She's gone through alot, kid - we all have in the past few weeks."
Eyeing the cup of coffee that he'd removed from Reid's grasp, he pushed it across the table to him. There was no use in taking it away once it was already poured and ready for him.

Reid continued looking at the floor embarrassed. Even though Morgan didn't seem at all phased by his little admission. Reid could actually hear a little proudness in the other man's voice. Yet that wasn't enough to get Spencer Reid over it. After all it wasn't like it was something Reid did everyday, or even every week. he had really only kissed a few girls, no boys!, in his life. And this was the first one that actually meant a lot to him. Not that the others didn't, but with them he couldn't have been sure that the girl actually loved him or if they were either playing a trick on him or if they were confused about what they felt. There was very little doubt in Reid about Krys. Sure he was going back and forth on the does she love me thing. But deep down Reid knew she did. It was the only explanation.
When Morgan pushed his coffee back over to him he smiled and muttered, "Thanks." Before picking it up and drinking nearly half of it in on swallow. He let the warm liquid warm his stomach waking for the sugar and caffeine to start taking effect. He knew that he was already maxed out on caffeine, but he was still hoping that some how it would wake him up more. He let a soft silence file the room not to sure of what to say now. He knew what he had to do and was ready to do it, at least he thought he was. Deciding that a change in the subject was needed a asked Morgan, "Do you think we'll get a case soon?" In a way Reid hoped that they would, he needed something to distract him. But he also didn't want to have to leave the city. He wanted to be with Krys as long as he could do make sure she was okay.

Morgan shrugged. "I don't know, kid." He admitted as he turned to pour himself a cup of coffee. The thought of another case had made him realize just how few hours of sleep that they'd all gotten. He took a sip of it, barely wincing at the sludge that the FBI passed off as coffee these days. He'd build up a sort of resistance to the horrid taste of it after al the years of having to drink it. "I can't stand another day of paperwork, though." Morgan wasn't naive to think that no case meant that nobody out there was being killed or hurt. No case meant that they couldn't help those people. People were always being hurt and killed - cases were just their the affirmation of their right to help these people.
"But I think we could all deal with a few more days of rest." He didn't just mean Reid - Hotch was spending time with his son, and he knew that the case had more than induced the maternal feeling in JJ. She'd spent more time at home as well. And Reid - well, Reid had Krys to worry about.
