OOC: Sorry for my crapy post. ______________ Little Matthew put on a small, sad pout as Krys told him she had to leave eventually. Did this mean he had to go back to his mean mother and father? The parentes who used to lock him into the closet? He really didn't want to go back. Not now when he finally was out of there.
His bottom lip started to tremble and his eyes water. Of course, he didn't want Krys to get into trouble for staying. If she had to go, she had to, but that didn't mean Matthew liked the idea.
Matthew didn't take his glassy eyes from Krys until the door opened up a second time today and Agent Morgan entered the room with a smile. Even though he was the one that had saved baby Matthew, Matthew still hadn't spoken to him. In fact, Krys was the only one he had spoken too.
At Morgan kneeling down beside Matthew and the table, Matthew backed up two steps. He wasn't afraid of Morgan (he knew Agent Morgan was a good person, otherwise he wouldn't have let the three year old out of the closet.), it was just that that Matthew was a shy and insecure little person. It used to take sometime before getting pass the walls he had built up, but Krys had succeeded uncommonly fast with getting pass them. How? Maybe because she pushed the right buttons? Who knew?
The boy turned his head to Krys, like he needed her approval to talk to Derek Morgan. As an answer to Derek's statement, he gave a slight nod with his head. His bottom lip still trembling a little.

Krys noticably frowned at little Matthew's distraught expression. His teary eyes, his trembling lower lip. How could someone not feel bad for the little one? Her stomach tied itself in knots. She knew she would regret setting foot in this room. Now she had went and gotten attached. This was going to be a mess for sure. She couldn't look out for a child now! A little over a month or two ago she had tried to kill herself! She could barely look out for herself let alone a child. She couldn't even look into the eyes of the man that she loved... How would this remotely work?
The sound of the door opening broke her from these thoughts as she watched the ever friendly Derek Morgan enter and kneel down. He was good with kids, she could tell. He just had this way and energy about him, much like Matt (even though he could be grumpy from time to time). Swallowing Krys gave Matthew a little smile, trying to encourage him that it'd be alright to speak.
"That's right Agent Morgan. Matt and I were just talking and he drew me a picture." Krys couldn't help but be proud as she slid the picture carefully toward Derek. A small child, a victim, had made her something. That didn't happen every day, especially in her life. Now looking back to little Matt her brown eyes were soft and warm. "Agent Morgan is a friend of mine so it's okay to talk to him about anything you like."

He was amazed by the picture that the child had drawn - a drawing like that definitly proved something, something good - something that hadn't been there before he sent Krys in.
"That's right, Matthew. Krys and I are good friends, aren't we?" He smiled at the woman, his eyes saying 'good work'. He didn't know exactly how she'd done it - but she had. There was a long way to go, a very long way, but there was progress that hadn't been there moments before.
"That's a very nice drawing, Matthew." He spoke the child's name - it was the first real name he'd ever been called and was likely going to keep it. "You're talented."

The three year old took a step forward again as Krys said it was okay. After all, the man had been the one that had found him. Morgan looked tall, even when he squatted. Matthew scratched his bruised arm and lowered his gaze to the floor at the compliment of his picture that he had drawn to Krys. Never in his entire life had the little boy gotten this much compliments from anyone. He would have smiled if he didn't think it was hard to take the compliments in. Instead he said nothing for a few seconds, then he forced a weak 'thank you' as a reply.
Matthew rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand, he was tired. Tired and thirsty, but he was too shy to ask for water or anything else to drink.

He noted the first words that the child had spoken to him - "thank you". It was progress, more of it, however small that it was. He smiled kindly and nodded, still crouching. Standing up, he'd tower over the young boy, and he didn't wish to intimidate him. Matthew had had enough of that in his life.
"Are you tired, Matthew? I can get you a nice place to lie down. Do you have any favorite snacks?" It was possible that he didn't even know what a snack was, but Morgan felt the need to offer the traumatized child something. He saw the way that his eyes looked - tired, exhausted, and only a little bit less frightened than he had been awhile ago. Carrying him out of the closet, Morgan felt as if there would be no light. How could someone survive something so horrific?
And then he'd remembered Krys. He'd remembered her story. While he didn't know all the details, he'd helped unearth plenty when she'd been kidnapped - part of victomology, even if nobody had wanted to think of her as the victim. He'd spoken to Matt, helped with all the details - he was, after all, the one who most oftenly talked to Garcia (who'd been so heartbroken at the time that his own heart broke.)
And he'd had Hayley call her, which was how she'd ended up here at the BAU for the first time in a very long time.

Matthew stared at agent Morgan as he nicely offered the boy a place to sleep. He was tired indeed and the offer sounded very tempting, but Matthew wasn't sure he dared to even close his eyes. The images of his angry parents and their hitting hands were there whenever he closed his eyes.
The tears began to burn behind his eyes again. This time stronger than the last time. And this time he also went closer to Krys, which he was affraid of before. He wanted her to pick him up so that he could curl up in her lap and fall asleep, but he knew she wouldn't do that. She wasn't his mother and he knew that very well. In fact, they barely knew each other at all but Matthew thought it still felt safe to be around her, and from the stories she had told it felt like he knew her better than he actually did.
Having gotten very attached to the young woman, he burried his head between her waist and the backsupport of the chair on the opposite side of where Morgan was standing. "Don't go" He begged Krys, hot tears seaking it's way down his cheeks and dropping down on his dark green t-shirt, leaving a stain. "please" He whimpered. Somehow, when Morgan came, it felt like Krys would leave, just like with the police officer before, and that was the last thing the little boy wanted. Besides if he would take a nap at a place that was completely unknown to him, he needed someone who he trused to sit with him.

Krys looked up when Derek addressed her and gave a nod. It'd probably be more comoforting for the little boy if she sang Derek's praises, saying how good of a friend he was to her but that wasn't in Krys' nature. Not anymore anyways. Not since all that had happened. For now her rambling tendencies had been put on hold. There'd be no telling when they'd come back, if ever. Hopefully one day. But, once again, babysteps.
Krys blinked as she watched the little boy move closer to her. Initially, on instinct, she straightened, not in a frightening manner, in fact it seemed that she was more intimidated by little Matthew than he was of her. Her experience with little children had been limited (mainly to her own siblings and then Lily), but since the kidnapping she had stayed away from most 'little people' out of fear of getting them in trouble somehow. She still blamed herself for the disaster that was that awful week even though the kids came out of it physically unscathed. The children were more resiliant than she was it seemed.
It took all of her might not to gasp when the boy wrapped his little arms around her, burrying his wet face into her belly. With a blank, yet surprised expression her hand rested lightly on his back, unsure of what else to do and yet afraid if she applied any more pressure that she might hurt him. Her brow furrowed with light confusion as she looked to Derek with worry unknowing of what to say before she finally looked back to little Matthew. Krys wasn't a good liar, so she wasn't even going to attempt it. She wasn't going to pump the kid full of false promises. She hated being lied to and she was willing to bet little Matthew hated it all the same.
"I have to go eventually." She managed to get out before looking up briskly just in time to catch Derek's expression and she let out a tired sigh. "What? I've got to go back home eventually." She frowned, feeling a bit guilty now she looked down at the top of the boy's head and eventually his sad face. God, why did kids have to be like this? So manipulative without meaning to be? They made you want to break every promise that you ever made. "I can't.... Maybe I can..." Her voice trailed off unsurely. Would there be no winning? "I... Oh boy..."

He hadn't been expecting this - the child hadn't bonded to anyone, and he'd chosen the one person who probably wasn't going to stay here for very long. Morgan made eye contact again with Krys - he no longer had the lead here and he knew it. Sure, he had the lead in reality - this was his case and he had control of it- but he couldn't tell Krys what she was going to do. He couldn't tell her that she had to stay. Oh boy was right. Morgan passed a hand over his head.
"She can stay for a little while more, buddy." He told the young child that was clinging to Krys. "But maybe after she takes a break, we can all eat a snack here together. How does that sound, Matty?" Morgan asked, praying that the child would respond. He hated this - seeing a child abused such as Matthew was. It wasn't right - children so innocent having seen so much and heard so much that wasn't their fault. It changed them, forever - if only people had half a brain- he worked to stop from clenching his fist.

OOC: I have forgotten the password to Matthews account :S __________-
Matthew burried his face deeper into Krys, wishing he had a home to go home too, but he hadn't anymore. What would happen to him? Didn't anyone want to be near him? It didn't seem like it.
His tears refused to stop and Krys hand on his back felt at first akward because never had anyone touched him as gentle as she did. She didn't hit him. But then again, that's why he trusted her. Even if it felt awkward at first he came to like it. It made him feel safe. He could feel on her bodylanguage that she felt a little awkward too but Matthew was afraid that if he let her go, she would leave.
The boy heard everyword of that Derek Morgan saic but refused to turn around. He only nodded as an answer...

Eve wasn't happy, a frown was on her face as she walked towards the elevator in the Quantico FBI Headquarters. Once she had crossed the room, she didn't look to see where the elevator was, but just pressed the up arrow, then had to wait for the sound that symbolised that the lift was there, she looked up for moment, It was on the top floor, she groaned quietly, this wasn't her day. She rubbed her forehead in annoyance, it was meant to be her day off today but when she had received the phone call informing her of the case that the BAU had taken, was focused on a child victim, she was told that she had to go in, as no-one was available. After slamming the receiver down, she cursed, that was a likely story, it was most likely no-one wanted this case as they knew, Agent Alexander would jump at the chance to work, a ping was heard which meant the elevator had arrived, snapping her out of her thoughts, she quickly entered the empty lift, pressing the correct floor number. She watched the doors close, she didn't try to stop them as she wanted to help but wondered for a moment about what she had been informed on, this child was young, very young couldn't have been more than six years old, and when the leading Agent, who she believed was called Derek Morgan, had found him, was in a dark closet, in a terrible state with the parents nowhere in sight. She couldn't help be disgust but in her line of work, it happened all the time, she shivered but knew, she had to help no matter what, it was her job. He was a case yes, but still she would never treat any child like that, they were special and innocent. Still, she could help evaluate herself, she looked herself over, checking and it wasn't like she was doing anything really today, but still she looked that what she was wearing an appropriate outfit, as she had left in a hurry but not that she worried about how she looked but her co-worker always told her to change her sense of style and try to look less intimidating. A black pencil skirt with a white frill shirt topped with a black waistcoat didn't seem that intimidating to her. The lift stopped as she reached her stop, the BAU bullpen, as the doors reopened, she made her way out of the lift and on the floor, she had been here before but only to dropped off case files that Agent Jareau had requested. She was the only agent, she had meet and the petite blonde in her opinion, seemed warm and welcoming but it was only a second and a hand over of files, it was unlikely she remembered Eve. As she crossed through the bullpen before approaching and asking an agent who was passing through where the child was being held, after she had shown him, her ID, so he didn't have to ask her first. He pointed out the direction, and told her exactly the right room, he was in. She thanked him and headed off the direction, the agent pointed in. She found an blonde police officer outside, she flashed him her ID then formally introduced herself. "Sir, I'm Agent Evelyn Alexander, from the Child Abduction and Serial Murder Investigative Resources Center, here about the current case" before she walked past him, and she proceeded to open the door and enter the room. "Agent Morgan, a moment please" she said, in a professional sounding tone which held an undertone which was calm and friendly, as she walked through the threshold of the room, but stopped there, not going any further in the room, to cause any form of distress to the young boy.

Krys' eyes shifted unsurely between the top of the scared little boy's head and her friend Agent Derek Morgan. He had gone through quite a bit of trouble to find her and had been one of the few that had succeeded. She was on his dime now and she left right this second it would be his head on the chopping block. She couldn't allow herself to sully Morgan's reputation which was no doubt spotless, not when he had been such a good friend to her. Also she couldn't find it in her heart to leave this little boy. Not when he had been through dark situations that probably only she could relate to. She had been there. Done that.
She felt little Matt burrow deeper into her chest and instinctively her arms remained wrapped around him lightly. She was still getting used to the gesture of affection because, aside from Matthew Grimaldi and Spencer Reid, she had recieved so little of it. She was flying by the seat of her pants now as far as that was concerned.
Another body entered the room. This time a woman that Krys did not recognize though it was probably better that way for the woman said hello to Agent Morgan and completely ignored her. Krys couldn't help but look up from where she held the boy and frown a bit. Shooting a look to Derek Morgan that threatened a roll of the eyes she then looked back to study the woman (Eve). Great, another one of those eager to please, pretty, tough as nails people. The data analyst was passed through enough factions to come across every sort of person but never had she been so blatantly ignored by a fellow female employee! For a moment it sent her for a whirl!
So now Krys was a smart young woman and could only make assumptions so she assumed that the woman wanted her to leave. Slowly she began to struggle to get to her feet while Matthew held on. "I uh..." Her unsure brown eyes glanced over the room begging for assistance before looking back to little Matt.

He paused in talking to Krys when he heard someone enter the room behind him. Agent Derek Morgan stood and turned to greet whoever it was, running a hand over his head.
There was a woman standing in the doorway, with dark hair and pretty eyes. She was looking at him, then past him to the boy he'd rescued. In the end, her eyes came back to him. "Agent Morgan, a moment please."
She already knew who he was, then - which didn't come as a surprise, considering that she was here about the case. He was, however, surprised that she didn't make any greetings asides from her request. She didn't even stop to acknlowedge the child or introduce herself - and Krys had gone entirely unoticed.
"I'm him - if I could ask, mam, who are you?" His eyes went to Krys, asking her silently to let it slide for just a second - that he would correct it. "This is Agent Krys Robin and, this little guy here," He crouched down and smiled at the boy. "This is Matty."

"I'm him - if I could ask, mam, who are you?" Eve smiled softly before pulling out her ID and answering his question. "I am Evelyn Alexander, from Child Abduction and Serial Murder Investigative Resources Center" she then quickly proceeded to put her id away, before he introduced the others in room which she had carelessly not noticed before, she was too focused on Agent Morgan and the boy.
"This is Agent Krys Robin and, this little guy here," She turned to face Krys, still with a smile on her face, "I apologize Agent Krys, I did not see you there, It is nice to meet you""This is Matty"then her gaze fell on the young boy Matthew, her eyes soften at the sight of him, she sighed even though she was used to these kind of case, it still hurt to see a child in this state, she would never truly understand what drove any parent to this.
"Hello Matty" was all she said before turning back to the Two agents, "I am here to help in any way I can so since you are leading Agent Morgan, tell me where you need me" she stood, waiting for instructions.

The three year old flinched when the door opened and Krys tried to stand from her seat. His arms let go of the only person he really trusted in the room, and went hesitantly to his sides. He tried to look up at Krys with begging eyes but the tears made it almost impossible for him to see. It was almost like trying to look through a glass of freschly poured soda.
The fear rose in him as the woman introduced herself as Evelyn and then heard the word 'child'. Who was she? Was she here for him? Would she take him back to his mean parents? Matthew looked from Krys, to Morgan, to the woman then back to Krys. Was Krys going to leave him here? "Don't go" He pleaded in a weak, hoarse voice. He thought Krys left because of something he had done. " I'll be a good boy." He sobbed between hick-ups the crying was causing. He wanted to hang onto Krys but wasn't sure how she would react. If she would get mad for standing in her way or anything else. Although, somehow he didn't think she would, but he wanted to be on the safe side. Instead he took two steps backwards, so that not to be in her way, but he didn't take his sad eyes off Krys.
Since Krys had been sitting rather close to the table Matthew accidently backed into the corner of it and lost his balance before falling to his butt on the floor.

Morgan shook his head slightly. "I'm leading the case, but-" Hearing the young boy cry for Krys not to leave him, Morgan held up a finger and turned back to the two of them. His first priority was the boy, not the woman who'd just entered the room. It still angered him, the state that he'd found the boy in - he didn't think that it would ever stop angering him, and for that he was thankful.
"Matty, Krys is going to stay right here with you. It's just me going out to talk to Mrs. Alexander. Okay, little man?" He said, before turning his head back towards the woman in question. There was plenty that the young woman could do - this case was a lot to handle for just two agents.
