Character Name: Toriann Ofira Daire
Age: 24
Date of Birth: February 14
Residence: Being a Spaniard but originating from Miami, Florida, Tori has moved around for years and years, passing through several countries due to her mother's hectic job, finally settling in Washington for her elementary school. After university, Tori rented an apartment with her friend Skylar in DC. But of course, where the job makes her go, she goes; Hotel renting is second nature to her.
Profession: Tori has taken up criminology for her entire high school life all the way to university, though re-sitting tests due to her short term memory. Recently graduated and free of schooling years, Tori pursued in criminology for another year and ended up in such a different career path than her mother: A Forensic Anthropologist.
Appearance: Tori is usually known for her tendency to show up anywhere with her hair in a gigantic tangle, occasionally in knee-length sweats and a plain t-shirt. She is a girl of tomboyish looks who pays very little attention to her appearance. One brush through her curls and a jacket over her pajamas is sometimes enough.
A natural and growing love for sports, Tori is of a strong physical build and would gladly offer to help a neighbor move in their new house by carrying heavy boxes. With the desire and passion for volleyball, soccer, climbing and sprinting, Tori is anything but petite.
She has chestnut brown hair and hazel eyes, nearly always accompanied with a big, bright smile. Always finding it hard to close her mouth and wipe off those plastered turned-up lips, Toriann Daire makes hailstorms seem friendly.
Of course now that she has a job, a lion's mane and a slept-through suit isn't very becoming, is it? So she has switched that habit into another: Jeans and jackets. The casual look of her blue jeans and white jacket makes her look too young, but she wouldn't care even if she looked old either.
Personality: Tori wasn’t much of a talker when she was younger. She isolated herself from her fellow classmates, feeling that she was different from them because she had no father in her life. At school she concentrated on her studies, staying quiet and being polite to her elders. But at home she was herself. She is a hopeless to-be forensic agent who has plenty of books on her shelves and newspaper articles on her walls. She is very cheerful and has a love of criminology, mathematics and medicine.
Tori loved to climb trees when she was younger, not afraid of the scratches or bruises she got. At the age of ten she began to climb the pipes on her houses or the railings on the apartment stairs. She has learnt to take care of herself well, not needed any male presence. So Tori is an independent girl who seems to rely only on herself.
But since she was in high school, Tori wanted to live a fun high school life like the other girls she knew around her. Her mother also encouraged her to be more outgoing. So she had learned to let her cheerful, outgoing, and bubbly personality out for all to see. She focused on her lessons to sound smarter and less kid-like, and improved her vocabulary in English, Spanish and Latin. The improved Tori is rather complicated:
Extraverted feeling, the auxiliary deciding function, expresses a range of emotion and opinions of, for and about people. Tori finds herself caught between the desire to express her wealth of feelings and moral conclusions about the actions and attitudes of others, and the awareness of the consequences of unbridled candor. Some vent the attending emotions in private, to trusted allies. Such confidants are chosen with care, for Tori is well aware of the treachery that can reside in the hearts of mortals. This particular combination of introverted intuition and extroverted feeling provides Tori with the raw material from which perceptive counselors are shaped.
Tori is twice blessed with clarity of vision, both internal and external. Just as she possesses inner vision which is drawn to the forms of the unconscious, she also has external sensing perception which readily takes hold of worldly objects. Sensing, however, is the weakest of her arsenal and the most vulnerable. Tori may be so absorbed in intuitive perceiving that she becomes oblivious to physical reality. She, under stress, may fall prey to various forms of immediate gratification. Awareness of extroverted sensing is probably the source of the "wannabe" side of her. So she still yearns to live spontaneously; it's not uncommon for her to take on a role that involves switching personalities.
History: A young aspiring model in Spain met the man of her dreams at the first shot of her career. He helped with the shoot, moving around furniture, providing things for all the models, and assisting the photographers. He was about four years older than the nineteen year old girl. They got each other’s eyes that day. Or at least the girl felt something deep in her heart for this man who looked to be working hard and pretty well off.
The girl was a success after that one shoot, other brands quickly wanting her beauty for their own products. The girl was still so young but moving fast in the world of modeling. The girl and the man she met that day kept in contact and soon began to date. It seemed the man was working for the photographers as a part time job before he was to become a photographer himself. The two seemed like the best power couple in the girl’s mind. She was truly in love with his man. The moved in together, the girl’s apartment, and the man offered to become her manager, saying it would be best since he would soon become famous himself. The girl willingly accepted his offer, seeing no harm.
For three years they were together. The girl was at the top of her game. They moved from country to country for her career, being in Miami at the time. The man seemed to become more secretive. He told her he was in fact a photographer and even had portfolios be brought home from work. She had no real reason to doubt him since he was still in fact her manager and she still had all her money. It was when she found out she was pregnant that she brought up the idea of marriage. He opposed the idea, telling her they could take care of the child and raise it right without having to be married. The girl accepted, her love for him clouding her judgment.
It was when the child was two that things changed. Money seemed to be disappearing from the woman’s account. Not just small amounts but thousands of dollars. She brought it up to her husband/manager who said it was nothing she needed to worry about. But it was something. One night the child woke up to a noise in her room. It was her father who gave her a gold clip, placing it her hair. She didn’t know what was happening but her father was leaving. He said his good-byes and something along the lines of not knowing he would come to love the daughter he never planned on having. And with that, the man left with millions of his girlfriend’s money she had made over the years.
The man never truly loved the young model he met five years prior. He was a conman and saw the young girl as a way to get money. So he lived in a loveless relationship and became her manager to steal the money she would make. He was planning on staying with the girl for a little longer but the birth of his daughter changed things. He began to love his daughter like a father would and knew he had to leave before he became too attached. So he felt during the night that he needed to leave the country.
The little girl’s mother was left with barely any money. She spent a few months in a depression until realizing she had to support a little baby. She gained a hatred for the man she once loved and continued her modeling career with the help of her parents. But she loved her daughter none the less. To forget about the deceitful man, she took her daughter and moved to Washington.
So Tori grew up with her mother. They had a good life thanks to her mother’s career. The woman tried to teach her daughter independence from men. In elementary school, Tori felt different from the other students since all of them seemed to have fathers. She felt alone and started to isolate herself from others. The students thought she was ignoring them because she was a model's daughter and looked down on them and because she thought she was prettier than the other girls. So she began to get bullied. The boys weren’t dumb enough to actually hurt her. They taunted her but the girls did physically bully her. She was pushed down and had her hair pulled many times. Tori lived like this without telling anyone, figuring it was her own fault since she didn’t have a father like everyone else.
It was one day at the field when she was walking alone that she saw something. Something so common yet fascinating to her. It was a soccer ball. The boys had left it there and forgotten to bring it back into the school. Tori toyed with the ball and kept scoring goals with no goalkeeper. She laughed to herself and giggled when she imagined her mother cheering her on for something besides getting 'A's in class. Thus she joined the soccer team, volleyball following a year later.
Though she began to be more active and fun-loving, the pupils in school yet still ignored her, thinking she was just trying to show off. Tori was inwardly confused at the treatment she received, and, as a confused child, began to say things like: "I don't need friends." or "What losers."
As she went to middle school, the students who had attended elementary school with her knew how she acted and ignored her. They also warned new students of her attitude and kept her from making friends. Tori’s secret finally got to her mother who told her she had nothing to feel bad about. If they didn't like her for who she was, why try? It wasn't because she didn't have a father figure. Her father was a man she didn’t need in her life, she was told. So her mother told her to be more cheerful and make friends. But it seemed it was too late.
So as she entered high school, Tori vowed to have a great high school experience. She hoped her love of sports, science and mathematics would help her making good friends. She was, however, a little apprehensive to make any friends who were boys since she had such bad experience with them. In high school she began to obtain interest in criminology, after watching all the detective television shows. Her freshmen year she chose to study it, and continued all the way to her senior year, now with a few friends encouraging her along the way.
In college Tori learned about medicine which she had also got an interest into. She watched more TV shows and learnt names of diseases. She learnt to pick up a sharp and sarcastic wit, something she stuck to even after schooling years. Soon after graduation she had gotten a degree. She still followed through with university, hoping to achieve more things. She needed a few re-tests due to her terrible memory but managed it all the same. Criminology and medicine were her paths for a career.
It wasn't by chance she stepped into the wrong office that day. Forgetting the correct floor for her interview, Tori took went a flight higher and landed in Washington's Counter Terrorism area. She had intended to be a geologist, but through the wrong interview, landed a spot as an anthropologist, with a back up quality of geology and pathology skill.

Roleplay Sample: There was just something about how Tori woke up that told her it was going to be a bad day. Promptly at six a.m. despite being a holiday, Tori's alarm clock went off. What happened? Well, that little abrupt return to conciousness sent her crashing onto the floor out of her bed, scaring her roommate awake, nearly throwing her alarm clock out the window and storming off to the shower. Why had she not rolled over and gone back to sleep like her disgruntled roommate? Because once Tori was awake, she was awake for the day. It was an unfortunate trait she inherited from her mother.
Sighing, Tori raked her fingers through her brunette hair, still damp from the shower as she clomped down the stairs. She was wearing jeans faded nearly white in parts, a pair of sneakers, a plain red t-shirt and had a white nylon jacket draped over her arms. Tori didn't need to look in the mirror to know she probably looked as irritated and tired as she felt. Some of the her neighbors that were awake took one glance and made a point to stay out of her way since it looked like Tori was ready to start snarling. She was not a morning person when it involved falling out of bed too early on a vacation day.
Grumbling, Tori sighed and tried to quell her irritation. She'd just realized she didn't bring down her purse. Tori knew her roommate was probably back in slumberland now and wouldn't open the door. It didn't matter anyway. Tori's key was not with her, and she would have to bang the door down before she could get in.
Heading back upstairs, dashing for the little door marked 861 that only had two girls living there, she banged on the door with all her might, waking up a few other residents of the condominium. She ignored the person groaning from inside and yelled, "Skylar, open up!".
Finally getting her roommate to open the door, Tori sighed, closing her eyes and trying to decide what to do with herself. Six thirty was WAY too early to be awake on a public holiday. Weekdays that was fine because work was like, 24/7. Now she had nothing to do that needed to be done in a great hurry. What was girl to do? No work, nowhere to go and no one around but the lousy self-absorbed Skylar. Gosh this day was going to be boring.
