ooc// The sole reason I am posting this is that I'm afraid my computer will fail later and I'll lose this. It's happened before. Don't count this as finished, it in no way is.

How many years roleplaying?: 6?
Jason Gideon, "Plain Sight"
Character Name: Derek Morgan
Age: 36
Date of Birth: June 6, 1973
Residence: Derek Morgan currently resides in Virginia, though he is an owner of four houses. His current residence is due to the convenience of being near his job.
Profession: Morgan is a profiler in the BAU, with a specialty on obsession crimes, he also teaches FBI self-defense classes.
Appearance: If one were to ask Garcia, she might tell him that “You are a statuesque god of sculpted chocolate thunder.”, but then again, that’s Garcia for you. Derek Morgan’s mother is Caucasian, his father was African American. Morgan is the muscle of the BAU; he is often the one to shoulder or kick a door open, tackle an UnSub, or smash his head into the roof of a car.
In the BAU, Derek Morgan is the one least likely to be seen in a suit. He is most likely to be seen wearing a dark t-shirt and jeans, sporting more formal clothing when required. His “bat belt” is ever-present, holding his silver razor phone, hand-cuffs, and his gun. He also sports a charming smile, forcing the question from Spencer Reid – “what girl doesn’t like Derek Morgan?”
Personality: When Derek Morgan first joined the BAU, he wasn’t quick to trust anyone. He still isn’t, and he never trusts anyone completely. This lacking is due to the sexual abuse he experienced at the hands of Carl Buford, the local youth center coordinator who made himself a surrogate father to Derek once his own father had passed.
Morgan often hides behind his physical strength, not letting anybody see his true, deepest secrets. It takes a near-conviction for him to let others in. He is, however, the one in the BAU who is most likely to get another to open up.
He is overly protective of the team members he sees as most vulnerable – Morgan refuses to lose another as he lost his father. When Garcia is shot, he blames himself quickly, knowing that she was angry with him when she was shot. If she hadn’t been so mad, perhaps she would have listened and gone out on the town with him instead. He makes it his mission to ensure her safety until the UnSub is caught.
Morgan has a temper that is quick to flare up in tense situations where someone he cares about is in danger. He can be seen punching a door when the all-too-easy-to-be-put-in-danger Dr. Reid is captured. However, this temper is an essential attribute when harnessed during an interrogation, he can use his ability to pry inside someone’s head to get the confession and save the day.
History: Derek grew up with his two sisters – Sarah and Desiree, mother, and father in a tough Chicago neighborhood. Derek’s father was a cop who died a hero in the line of duty when he was ten. Shortly after his father’s death, he fell into trouble when he took up fighting with other youths in his neighborhood, earning himself a criminal record that was later sealed.
Stepping in as a surrogate father figure was Carl Buford, a local youth center coordinator. Morgan saw Carl as the reason for his survival; Morgan became the star football player in his town. He started to see himself as being worth something in a town that had always told him otherwise. However, Carl was sexually abusing young Morgan. Afraid to speak up for himself, afraid of what others would think, and afraid to lose the person he saw as his rise to something better than he had been, Morgan later visits his hometown on a case, and helps the boy who is being abused by Carl in the present break away from him. He is finally able to realize that it is he alone who helped himself rise from the ashes of his struggling days, not Carl.
Morgan served in a bomb squad unit when he worked as a Chicago police officer, which later helps the team with a case where an UnSub has placed a bomb underneath the seat of a woman’s car.
When Penelope Garcia joins the BAU, Morgan and Garcia immediately form a strong relationship. He is also a brother figure to the young Dr. Reid and forms strong relationships with the majority of the BAU.

French poet Jacques Rigaut said, "Don't forget that I cannot see myself. My role is limited to being the one who looks in the mirror."
