"You know there’s got to be a faster way to do this. How about we just change the first question to ‘have you recently dated a homicidal pyromaniac?’"

Character Name: Kara Barnhill
Age: 25
Date of Birth: October 25th.
Residence: She was born in Manhattan, but currently lives in Virginia close to the college campus.
Profession: She is currently a college student, having gone back to school to get a degree in Psychology, to bolster her Criminology degree she has earned. She wishes to join the FBI eventually as a profiler, though really would be happy in any field where she gets to help people. She currently waitresses on the side of school to keep her rent paid, and fridge full.
Appearance: She is rather easily lost in a crowd, though once someone meets her she is hard to forget or pass over. She has pleasant brown eyes that always seem to be smiling, and a graceful smile that seems to work its way across her face as often as it possibly can. She is petite, a mere 5'4" tall--though what she lacks in size she makes up for in personality.
She has brown, curly hair that falls to just past her shoulder blades, and it is often left loose to fall as it pleases, though she never appears messy. She is rather a sharp dresser, spending almost all of her time in business-casual type wear and heels, making it a point to look professional.
When, on the off chance she happens to go casual, she is a fan of jeans and sun-dresses. She opts to show bursts of femininity in her ensembles, no matter what they are.
Personality: She is a very driven young woman, knowing she wants to make it in Law Enforcement, something that most people realize and acknowledge as a man's profession, especially as a member of the FBI. She studies hard, and attempts to prove herself to those around her, wanting desperately to help people everywhere. She prides herself, perhaps a bit too much, on her brain and mind.
Though, she is a very sweet and gentle woman. Almost constant smiles come from her. There is nothing she loves more than being with other people, and thoroughly enjoys the company of the otherwise socially awkward and inept, often going out of her way to get to know them and make them see they are valued.
However, for all of her sweetness, Kara is a firecracker, and if her fuse is lighted she is explosive. While it is rare to see her lose control of herself in that way, she will yell and scream and cry the same as any other; often worse to make up for her size.
History: She was Born in New York, and as such has always loved thriving cities and a splash of danger. However, she always took great care with her schooling and kept her grades up throughout her educational career. Her parents were constantly traveling for ballroom competitions when she was young, and as such she stayed just about every other weekend with her Aunt Cecilia, a young and respected lawyer. As Kara grew older, she learned to love both worlds her family provided for her, the whimsical art of ballroom, and the strict and exciting life of the law. When she was fifteen, Kara was staying with her Aunt Cecilia when they began having a conversation about the future, and the woman remarked to her niece that though she loved being a lawyer, she wished that she had chosen a different profession, and maybe would be able to catch the bad guys before the cases ever reached her desk. This changed Kara's focus in life, and right then she decided to be an FBI Agent.
She has done some police work in Virginia near and around Quantico with her fellow classmates, passing her gun exam, and is specially adept with undercover missions, adapting to situations almost effortlessly when on the field, something that she is known for in the department.
Likes:
- Ballroom dancing. She has, in fact, held this dear to her all of her life--half because it reminds her of home, but half because it gives her mind a relief from whatever troubles come her way.
- Reading. Kara can never have enough books; in fact, if she would ever consider a different career path, it would be an English teacher.
- Children. Perhaps it has everything to do with the fact Kara was an only child. Or maybe its a mothering instinct that is just undeniable. Either way, the result is the same.
- Meeting new people. She, of course, loves to make friends. Social occasions seem to drive her.
- Profiling. She is still learning, but she does enjoy reading other people, as well as herself.
Dislikes:
- Hospitals. In fact, that is her number one fear. And the doctors that work in them. She cannot really explain why, but she does detest them so!
- People who are in pain. Whether emotionally or physically, Kara is one that will sit right beside someone and coddle them until they feel better. It breaks her heart to know people have to suffer sometimes.
- Serial Killers. For obvious reasons.
- When people doubt other people, or make fun of them. She finds it positively horrid that people will treat others in such a foul way.
Strengths:
- Dancing. Lets face it, she grew up doing it--it stuck well.
- She is also an above average cook, and can make wonderful dishes, which she likes to share with others.
- Undercover work. She is good at keeping it cool under pressure, and as such has learned to adapt in tough situations. When she worked with the Virginia Police, this came in quite handy.
- Loyalty. Her friends never have to worry about being abandoned by her.
Weaknesses:
- Hospitals and Doctors---she will cry, and freeze up if she has to deal with those for any length of time. Though, she has been known to suffer through it if a friend is in one.
- She will quite lose herself with anybody that can quote books she adores, or shows signs of being a scholar. This will divert her attention and cause long conversations to occur, which could keep her from doing other work.
- She feels untouchable, sometimes. As if nothing bad will ever happen to her. However, this is untrue; and it will cause a rude wake-up call eventually.
- Her temper. It may be hard to ignite, but it is impossible to put out until it runs its course.
