Since everyone seemed kind of cool with this idea I figured I'd post it here for brainstorming *shrug*

Yes. Good idea. We should brainstorm. =]
So it should open up with just CT until they realize they need the BAU. (Though, what they could do is beyond me. I guess if it was a purposeful attack they could be used?)
But areas of quick-spread would be things like the mall, college campus and the bank---the park. xD

I think Matt and Kate should be sent undercover... Maybe on the college campus, Kate as a student and Matt as one of the bad guys or something like that. Then they realize they need to BAU's help when the terrorists send the virus on the campus and Kara and maybe Kate get sick, I don't know just throwing things out. Or we could do some sort of "24" thing where they threaten the campus and they have to put it in quarantine, and that's when the BAU is called in. Then at one point people could start getting sick or something like that

I'd say yes..
But why would they send people undercover into a virus ridden college campus?

My idea is that someone created the virus (which is where BAU comes in to find the guy) and since it falls under disease terrorism Counter Terror would be involved.
I vote for Emily and JJ being sick for the following reasons: Emily: Kind of an outsider and it'd make her see that the team cares. JJ: Because you know with her son and Will at home (plus how everyone feels for her) there'd be SERIOUS angst and drama.

I'm also kind of a fan of BAU in NYC (Counter Terror's turf) because that'd bring in a whole new set of obstacles of Matt being a bit stubborn with his own 'space' and other such clashes between teams.
Phew.. ramble much?

Oh, I like that Krys. That makes sense. Team drama is always good, and I like the whole 'uncooperative-but-forced-to-work-together' thing.
I like this plot a lot. I think it has a lot of potential. Any ideas on when or where we're starting? I'm assuming we'd start with Counter Terror and work our way to the BAU some way or another. (Because of all the above reasons, especially if J.J. and Emily are targeted.)

Um so we don't start with a lull we could always start in the heat of things were NYC is crazy because of the growing number of cases and the city is threatening to go on lockdown so we could start with BAU 'entering' the scene and pickup from there.
The start of everything could be hinted at in our posts as opposed to taking forever and a day to start it.

Okay. Well, if its in NYC, that certainly adds more drama. I can still send Kara into the plot (though minimally, because she would be sick)---just because I want to try and play a diseased person. I've never gotten to do that before! Hahaha. Okay. Well, then, I have a few more questions.
Where did it originate, what are the diseases' symptoms, and why was it released? I mean, lots of people HATE New York, but really. xD

I don't think it has anything to do with hating New York.
Honestly, if you look back on terrorist attacks it's usually done to assault a landmark that means something to people or to inflict as much damage as possible. How do you do that? By putting your 'weapon' in a crowded place. NYC is naturally crowded with ALL kinds of people. It's an 'ideal' target really, for lack of a better explanation.

Yeah, but what are the terrorists' cause? Like...are they linked to jihad or are they home-grown?
If its trying to make a statement about money, a really awesome place to have it start is Broadway. Like...they put it in the airvents or something? Every performer and every viewer will get sick for sure. (I love Broadway. Hahaha.)

As someone from the area (or at least I live there 9 months out of the year ha) I'd suggest having it in Time Square.
The likelihood of people getting into EVERY single broadway theatre (which spans out over like well over 20 blocks) would be a tad unlikely especially with the recent addition of security given recent events and the actors union.
Sorry.. I know weird things >.<

Also Time Square is where EVERYTHING happens.
Businessmen, actors/artists, news, store owner, tourists.. Also since it's a large, very popular area the risk would be upped ten fold.
Plus the naked cowboy...

Times Square is a good place for it to be released. I am assuming its airborne. Certainly tons of epic action-ness involved with this one.

I'm sorry I keep throwing in my two cents.. I'm just in the city a lot >.< I am willing to bet Hotch and Morgan can add to it too (being near my area heh).
Not my area personally... Like my personal area... You know.
